there was nothing
that stopped her from
ripping her skin and turning it
into a crimson work of art.

when asked, she said
'i am simply following
my love's orders,
to escape my horrific mind.

you can't see him and he can't you
but he takes me to wonderland.
he builds me my paradise
where i can finally feel free.'

some called it madness
some called it a saviour for a misfit
but all i saw was love and hope
between a messiah
and a creature fragile.
when I'm looking at you
and you're looking back at me
I wonder how
the gods were
able to shrink a thousand
stars
into those eyes and
I wonder how
an entire galaxy
can spread throughout
the palms of your hands

how I wish you were just the
sands in the ocean
within my reach, easy
to grasp
or the trees in the mountains
where I could wrap my
arms around

but there you are
yes, beautiful and
shining bright
but from where I stand
too far away
to hold

too far
away
The light is burning your right cheek
Your lips are not smiling
Your hair is medium short
A part of your left eye is showing
And I endlessly look at you
Trying to forget how your skin felt
How your lips read a play for me
How I played with your hair till you fell asleep
And how I looked into your eyes endlessly and smiled
Because my pupil couldn't handle my perception of your beauty

This photo of you is my daily dose
Of getting over you

I saw the photo. I wrote the poem. You removed the photo.
