Dear Love
Gary Robinson Jul 2014
Have you ever been love sick? Disconsolate because of unrequited love, sorrowful because of love due to you that is not forth coming?

I miss you!

I say this with weight. Although this word, in this context deems to be superficial. In fact, all words that the corporeal aspect of my being uses are superficial. Stamping upon the surface for entry, only to watch my soul embrace my feelings and emotions and utter their response in clarity.

Does it awe you that my soul is the only part of my being that explains how I feel with any real clarity?

Oh, how inadequate sometimes is this gift of the human body; entombing the essence of our being in that which dies. Unable to talk the language of the ethereal, what we say is merely symbolic to what we feel. Playing charades with a passion that often causes man to ****.

I ask, “Is this safe?”

But life is not safe. I could die as my pen massages this leaf, leaving an unfinished ode to the cause of my grief.

You must spiritually kiss me to mentally grasp what I’m trying to say. And through those lips without color or texture escape my pain.

I miss you!

A PART OF ME ISN'T HERE
Gary Robinson Jul 2014
Maybe if I thought of her hard enough I could breathe her into my presence.

And although I try, her face only brings a tear

And with this tear I mix my hearts manifestation.

Only to write more grief,

Within the lines of this leaf

This is the great lovers manifesto

Questionable only with this:

Will I and my love ever manifest?

Or will I remain forever torn from my flesh?

Fighting the unchangeable,

The which, I cannot correct.

A part of isn’t here.

Though this part continues to live on

And I cry not because it lives, because it does not live it only exist

And though I pray for it to transcend,

I can’t ignore the wreckage that takes place within.

A part of me isn’t here.

And I wonder if someone is making love to you?

And even though there are more important questions that bombard me in the dead of night.

This one vexes me in the voices of rain drops dying upon my window.

Mockingly asking,

Does he hold you closely at night just to here two hearts beat simultaneously singing a love song?

Does he taste your sadness manifested as tears falling from your eyes?

And if he loves you answer me this,

Has his spirit ever transcended the ethereal to comfort you when you’re lonely?

I know the thought of you out there with all life has to offer and the thought of me having tasted some of the bitter fruit that this world produces is disturbing.

But don’t kiss him!

And if you do, veil your eyes so that he doesn’t look into them as I once did.

Don’t kiss him!

Because what lies within a kiss is a trust that boarders on the edge of love,

And what lies within losing your love is a mentality that boarders insanity.

And I could lose you through a kiss,

Lose you through a kiss,

Lose you through a kiss,

And in turn lose myself.

BURDENS OF THE POET
Gary Robinson Jun 2014
How often have you sat composing thoughts in which to get lost in?
So morose by your bleak surrounding that you escape into a fantasy?
You are my fantasy!
That dream lover into whose being I am lost
My songs of sorrow seem to be embraced by more than the weeping of a poet’s heart.
At times it appears that even the spirit of Mother Nature feels my pain
And she cries with me in a sun shower to let me know that I don’t have to carry this burden alone,
Again
But at night, when I am bombarded with memories of the smell of your fragrance,
The caress of your hands
The taste of your lips,
That look that appears on your face when I do those things that make your body submit
Girl we are fortunate that Mother Nature doesn't share my burden then.
If she did the tears from her eyes would consume the earth
Consume women,
Consume men.
And the heat of her fires would in turn set it aflame
When she witnessed the passion of our love making
The pleasure
The pain

Even through our separation, I taste you
Intensely!
And since this separation I've found I missed you
Immensely!

Goddess
Gary Robinson Jun 2014
You are the definition of ****.
**** and cool lady
That’s you.
A nameless Goddess that sashayed into my circle
To stay only for a minute and vex my feelings
Then disappear as swiftly as you came.
You must have been blown by the breath of beauty
And modeled your movements after the Goddess of seduction
How else could a mere mortal achieve such poetry in motion?
Such fluidity of grace is only found in the movements of oceans,
And
Goddesses of seduction

How can a mere mortal kick it to a Goddess?
Words seem so trivial,
And my voice so inconsequential
For you I would have to speak with the voice of thunder,
And allow lightning to spell out my passions for you in midnight skies.
Allow natures songbirds to sing my odes to your beauty.
And a valley of Jasmine’s to intoxicate you with their fragrance.

For a Goddess
Such things as mundane chariot rides through man made streets will never suffice.
For you I would capture a Phoenix,
That it may take you to the ends of the world,
And speak to you of things deep within my heart that my mortal tongue knows not the language of.

To kiss you with my mortal lips would result in spontaneous combustion,
And although I could embrace this fate
For such a taste,
Goddess
I want to kiss you for eternity
So I would call on the rising and setting of the sun for the rest of my life to do this honor.

If love is jewel,
Mine is the largest-
Most magnificent-
Ever fashioned by the human heart,
And in my mortality it is my greatest possession.
To you Goddess I offer my heart.

SOUL MUSIC ETERNAL
Gary Robinson May 2014
Shortness of breath
Hot all over
Wanting to touch you but I can’t
Exasperated by my situation!
It feels as if I’m going insane
Baby,
You’re making me insane.
You know all the emotions you trigger when you look my way,
How my pupils dilate when you kiss my lips that way.
Girl, I seek the rhythm that moves you
That guides your body in this dance of life
Once found I wish to become that rhythm,
Giving birth to a music that will transcend sound
The music two souls make when they are one.

Fools Paradise
Gary Robinson May 2014
Sometimes there’s an artificiality in words,
So I speak to you in silence,
One heart to another
In the silence of your heart you tell me you love me
And the vibrations resonate deep in my chest,
I feel you!
Like Karma Sutra love under a midnight sky,
**** naked on a mountain top we embrace
Meditate
Until the fusion of our minds become entangled in passion
We hold this position for eternity
The pleasure of our silence is deafening.
We both look deep into the windows of our souls because in this ecstasy the shutters are removed.
No coverings
No disguises
No fronts
Vulnerable, we face each other with our hearts in our hands
Fearfully, you extend yours
Slowly, I mine
None of us wanting the pain that comes when they are broken
Carefully we inspect them.
Fissures caused by past relationships speak of our history with love
Rocky it is,
Rocky it was.
And yet we embrace because to love is to take a gamble,
To place our heart into the hands of another,
Hands that will either crush it or caress it,
Because our faith in this thing called love causes us to see the best and ignore the worst,
Often have we gambled in Cupid’s Casino
Often have we left his tables broken and scarred in search of a tonic to drown our sorrows.
Yet this gamblers paradise is forever full of fools,
Those looking for love.
