I stole his girl
And now he's going crazy
I was always the one
His perspective was always hazy
He thought she loved him
But she endured him
He thought shed never leave
But then she met me

He's on the run
On the run
From his dreams
His dreams
But she's on me
She's on me

I've never had too many regrets
I think what you do should be over
And when it is, you gotta learn
But he'll always be her little gopher
Running around for her
Making money just to spend it all
Because he's on her tail
Setting himself up to fall

I feel bad
I guess I do
But it ain't me
It's you
And then it's me too
Your hand warm under my skin
I feel you like the sun's breath
Touching me on a winter day
As we sat against each other
Staring into each other's galactic eyes
We see a future
Where stars aligned starts to drift
Away from their places in the galaxy

I placed my hand against your heart
Feeling the drum beat beneath my nerves
Hearing a song that you never sang for me
I held back tears that felt like streams of water
Rushing against a current of memories
You are here
Beneath my skin aching every breath
When your eyes started to tell me

Goodbye.

Broken glass lines the path
as if they were shattered dreams themselves
fragments of hopes lost in the whisper of the wind
in the night they lie still
I feel like I am dancing on the shards
as I walk, knowing I am blessed
but it makes me sad too
trash litters the ground
life is tossed into slums
many never get the luxury to escape
merely adding to the glittering pieces
they pile up unending
eroding, until the glass is no longer discernible from sand
I am talkin' 'bout the ghetto baby
and it ain't no easy road
With a simplicity,
Like evening tea;
Her beauty radiates,
From her eyes it emanates;
Subtly entrancing,
Like fireflies dancing;
In the dusk light,
Those curves tight;
Would cause many to swerve,
But few would have the nerve;
To approach her daring,
Just from a distance staring;
Not knowing how to say,
With but a simple "hey"
Have but for a moment her attention,
Indulge in sweet temptation;
Bask in the presence of her this woman,
A fine specimen of a human;
She takes your breath away,
Like the light of the sun's first ray...
Stripping away
the pretense
to expose the
naked truth.

Nothing to hide
as the warm water
flows over me.

Washing away
yesterday's mistakes
and disappointments.

Watching as regrets
disappear with the suds
down the drain.

Cleansed of the past.
Ready to start a new day.

Hey you, yeah, you,
The boy who's face is too small
For all his emotion,
Who's heart is too soft
For this world commotion.
Don't let what you cant control
Define you,
Don't let what you couldn't stop
Confine you.
Don't take the pain you find
In various places,
Don't let it guide you
To despair filled places.
You are the boy
With wide open eyes,
If you could just see
How they reflect the sky's.
Perhaps you would understand
How you will survive.
Every breath that you breathe
Is proof your alive.
I am here so please
Don't let your face fall.
You are loved so stop
Feeling nothing at all.
If only you knew what we do.
