I have only felt this way
Once before now
And it was you then too
Hey, everybody! So I've had this account since I started high school and now that I'm well into college and working on publishing more and more, I've created a second account dedicated to some of my favorite, more refined work. Here's the link! http://hellopoetry.com/ecarsyn/
There may be some poems from this account that you'll recognize as I'll be revising and posting on my second account from now on. I would love your support in this transition! I am open for collaborations, edits, suggestions, comments, etc!

With love,
Carsyn Elizabeth Smith
The clouds above us weep
at the sight of your departing footprints,
but don't fear, love, for
from these relentless tears,
beautiful flowers shall sprout
and the heavy goodbyes
that engraved your lonely footprints
will be replaced with
welcoming embraces
and the light laughter
of a new beginning.
The sea kissed the shore
The earth made love to the core
The heavens opened wide their gates and doors
Icy drops of fresh rain blessed the floor.
The fog masked over the moon
Nocturnal lovers cherishing the boon
As nice as under an umbrella in summer noon
Kids licking honey off a silver spoon.
Thoughts of beautiful things flock my mind
The feeling is indescribable
The impossible happen
When you look into my eyes like you do.
Roses represent what we call love
They are great gifts from God above
Petals that blossom throughout the day
They touch our hearts in many ways

A scent so special it is their own
For love and friendship they are grown
Awake each morning as a new day comes
Show their beauty and reach for the sun

Many colors of Roses that we can see
Each one special, each one unique
Grow new each year to give away
To place a smile on someone's face

Roses represent what we call love
They are great gifts from God above
Petals that blossom throughout the day
They touch our hearts in many ways

I give to you a rose today

A friend asked that I write a poem about roses and this is what I came up with. Always hard writing for someone else because instead of using your feelings on a subject you are trying to figure out how you think they feel.

Vivian
he's
tripping, but not
coerced by gravity;
rather a Molotov cocktail of
endorphins lobbed straight at his
prefrontal cortex.
some find this
distasteful,
some find it
deplorable;
god help me,
I find it adorable.
(it's the only time he'll
admit he loves me)

pictures scare me
they're like portrayals of undoubted fun
you look at them
they have become memories
and you relive them in your head
you laugh at the face you made
or the jokes made from that night
but you realize that moment
will never happen again.
the picture can be taken
just as fast as the fun started
and can be destroyed
just as fast as the memory fades.
in an instant.
before your eyes.
before you realize what happened.
like paper in a flame.
nothing lasts forever.
I set fire to my broken chest
everytime I think ,
of what we can't be,
and I let these tears fall,
to try to put out the flames,
but nothing seems to quench,
this raging inferno.
