The morning sun slices through the partially closed curtains
tenderly kissing your neck with a soft white glow
her light has traveled a distance I can hardly fathom
through darkness and nothing
finally resting upon your sleeping eyes
in this stiff hotel bed
our bodies meld together
your warm naked skin against mine
I bury my face into your shoulder
and kiss your back
I want to hold you closer and never let you go
but my muscle and bone bend and fracture
under the weight of time
she pulls like a howling riptide
casting you out to sea
beyond my reach

Yet I wrap my arms around you
with the knowledge
I will one day lose you
whether you fall into the final slumber
or into the embrace of another
we will be torn apart with the force of a dying star
its mass collapsing down to a singular point
so dense that even light cannot escape
its gluttonous grip
but for now
I lock my fingers, I clasp my hands,
I cradle you against my chest and I fight
I fight the very weight of existence
for an extra few seconds in this hotel bed

you tap me half awake-
with words like leather
then add black-
now you have my attention

Silence is not keeping quiet
because you have nothing
to say...

Silence is having a lot
to say but no desire
to speak...

so many worlds in my head
can't be contained
can't be defined
by time or space

so much love in my heart
won't be restrained
won't be denied
by chance or fate

there exists another way
physical yet metaphysical
through ferocious eyes
foo dogs at soul's gate

there exists another place
devoid of time, out of mind
where fractions of god
reconnect and recreate

there exists a sandstorm
in the hourglass of fortune

Let me destroy this glass of wine.
Take it to heart
like a recurring insult
from the men that once ruled our lives.
The soap operas are almost done,
and I doubt you will have any need
for me tonight.
There is no darling to address,
but if I whisper enough times
perhaps the wind
could pick up my voice
and carry it to more accepting ears.
Let me find a way to last the night.
A touch of youth
amongst all of this decay,
the way lovers pile up
like sad songs and ***** laundry
in the back alley of my mind.
Let me finish this glass of wine.
After that, I will try something new.

Wish I could read every book
In this world.
Wish I could shake every hand
That hasn't harmed an other
Unjustly.

If only I could press that heart-
Shaped button for every poem
I read,
And inhale every poem of every
Poet that ever pressed one
Under any of mine.
And those of any that didn't.

I see gems with each scroll.
Bits of lives, heartbeats,
Some broken, some healing,
Some full of nothing but
Gratitude. Some filled with voids.
So many laughs. I wish I could
Share your every one
With you.

If I try to hold on to it all,
I'll lose my mind.
And track of my time.

I see poetry in every post.
Wish I could comment on them all.
Some I may not fully agree with,
But praise to all that write.

I have been gifted with so much
Response from so many.
I've tried to reply and thank
Each one,

But I am just one man.
A tired construction worker with
Band aids on every finger
At times.
Their tips hurt from sharp screws,
Hammer blows and rushed
Carving, then typing.
Head from digging in these
Second language parts
Of my simple Norwegian
Workman's brain.

Living a full, fantastic life.
One that I cherish
To write about.
To share. To express to myself,
And in the same breath
Anyone wanting to read.
I suppose we all carry some shade
Of that same feeling.
That's why we're here.
To share.

This site has been more than
Therapy to me.
It has been a home.
A sanctuary.

Some small, huge egos
Cry for fairness and attention,
Mouthing the three ugliest
Words I know:
What
About
Me?

But dark shapes in contrast
Create fulfilment within the art.
So what the hell, all balloons are
Mostly nothing but air. Anyway.

I hope I have inspired some.
I know I have made others feel
Neglected and unappreciated.
Well, it's a dance floor
Full of toes, and it's only human
To have a left leg or two.
Nothing's worth taking too
Seriously. I should know.
I have.

I'll still dance my heart out,
Laughing along with all others
That do. It's a Kindergarten
Universe. Play. Eat. Nap.

I thank you for every Follow.
Each and every Like and
Comment.
Every Collaboration.
Every Unfollow.
Every Block.
A full life is full of everything.

We are all single humans. Yet
Not one is here alone.
There's poetry dancing in
Your every
Movement.
There's life in every heart.

I love words.
I love life;
I love your every
Heart.

you cannot miss me,
mathematical impossibility,
there is no null and void
wherein
parts of me reside,
in many places,
most far away,
inside you,
surely one of them,
that is so close,
so d e e p,
never lose or miss me,
for all you need do is
read and breathe
all~ally my poems,
the stain of me,
unerasable irascible immaterial
a permanent maker inked

The air gets thicker
as my room gets darker
I can barely see my
name
my identity fades
as I evolve and change
until I become unrecognizable
even to myself.

We think we are
what we always will
be
time in the midst
stands still,
the illusions we weave
can only deceive
until the truth
is told to set us free.

In this life
everything we believe
we know is a dream
the power of ego
deceives us into thinking
we have more to win
or lose.

We puff up like
parrots
reciting our lines
of
sorrows or joys
in hopes to find
one moment of truth
but it's only for this
brief time.

I kick the rock
I lay with you
to remind me
in
this warm embrace of
your sweet arms
I finally
remember
I'm really real.

I can only give
what I have

may I practice
compassion and forgiveness
with myself,
so I can *pass it on
