I blush far too easy. Oh, I fall easy too.
2. Aha! Being short is quite okay.
3. Oh My, I hide behind my hair & hands if my cheeks go crimson.
4. A little thing I always do: I kiss my teddy-bear Good-bye before       I leave my bed.
5. Most people, no everyone has something to teach me.
6. A fact: I am blessed. I should never ever let that slip away between my fingertips.
7.Never give up.
8.Decisions. Decisions. Decisions. You have to make one.
9.A quote I adore: "The Soul is dyed by the colour of its thoughts."
10. Hair is often unconsciously twirled in my fingertips.
11.Eeeek!
12. I Look funny when I daydream.
13. Let the people you truly adore etch their names on the edges of your heart. There, they cannot never truly be gone.
14.Oh my goodness, isn't he a sweet-heart?
15. ! You've got to be brave. Don't let your lips be bitten back by those hesitating, silenced words.
16. Stories like ours don't quite end. Not yet, anyway.
Hihihi!! I hope that didn't sound too narcissistic.
I got the idea for this poem from a fellow poet on this site. I've been searching for that particular poem but I cannot seem to find it. If you are the one who wrote something similar or a poem about turning 16, please tell me so I can credit you lovely person! x

I guess, you guys know a little more about me, hey?
Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday where-ever you are!

seven years young, always sharing a still smile.
You find him decked out and drowning in choir robes, with
Golden curls placed gently on a hammered head.

This boy plays piano in a dead sanctuary
Following familial rule,
until he let it all go.

the boy began playing music unwritten,
off hymnal sheets
Harmonious melodies stream from dancing fingertips,
Intrinsically clearing the once-cloudy air with vivacious voodoo.

The boy’s fingers groove up and down the piano,
His touch graces ivory keys and
His foot performs a rhythmic pedal-pressing tango.
He calls the audience: everywhere, eyes ignite like flame:
A communal headturn towards the piano.

They need more.
They crave it.

All the sanctuary people rise from the seats,
Abandon their pews, they enclose this boy.
No means to scare him, they want to experience.
The audience turns their ears towards the piano’s emissions,

Emanating from within

Inhaling soundwaves—
Intoxicatingly sweet.
They absorb his notes into every pore of their skin,
Fueling their bodies with musical nutrients.
Electric jolts flow right into the room’s extremities.
They let down their hair and begin to dance.

Until a brief noise, distinctive throat-clearing, came through the speakers;
Heads shifted to the podium, only to see their ticked-off pastor,
Smirking and waving sarcastically.

Discipline.

The congregation stumbled back to their seats.
The boy stopped playing.
Ending the enchantment, killing the sanctuary.

Air again filled with ‘God’s voice’
through the mouth of the speaker.

A speaker who just wanted attention.
The boy slipped out of the piano seat, out the church’s doors.

You want to chase after him, give him a ride
Where could the boy be going in the middle of the storm?

The pastor’s prodigal son.

I still order chicken strips
(with a side of fries)
And when my cartoons go off
Sometimes I have to cry

I still kick my covers off
And refuse to sleep with socks
And when I go to the candy store
I still get sugar rocks

My Barbies still have boyfriends
(and better hair than me!)
My dessert is still 99% sprinkles
And 1% ice cream

My stuffed animals still have names
And they have feelings, too
I can't sleep with only one
I invite the whole **** crew!

I still have my night light
(shh! Don't tell my friends!)
And my math is still not very good
"5 plus 5 is 10!?!"

Despite my inner child
And my silly pointless fears
It seems in 15 years of living
I've aged a hundred years

So this is basically a rant and things I can't really tell people.

To all the friends,
who I thought I needed-
I just realized that I don't.
Because I am done with worrying
about what to think
and what to say to you.
Done with debating
what it is.
And done with **** people.

To all of my friends
who I think I still need-
I don't.
Restraining myself from telling you about my every day
Isn't easy
But now sending myself emails
has become too habitual
I found a substitute for you.

To both of my parents,
thank you.
I don't agree with anything you say
But up till now you were always right
(usually)
So I don't know who is wrong this time
Sorry for all the problems I have caused

To my little brother-
you did get meaner.
And I wish that you could be
one of the people who don't mock me
It's okay though
But know that I will never be
"fun" again.
sorry

To the girl who thinks this is for her:
It's not.
To the girl who thinks it isn't for her:
It is.
I'll still always be there for you
Because it is you that I do need

Nineteen and my only problem is feeling,
It tires and tears me at the seams,
As if I should be a structure so perfect,
Even I wish I knew what this means,

But I know what to compare with a glance and a glare,
Like I don’t know the face of a lie,
And I’m sure she’s pretty and standing next to me,
While I’m as boring as that train ride to truth,

Matters will never matter when I get there,
As though I’m your truth and you’re still scared,
I would beg you to forget me if you can accept honesty,
Then nineteen and feelings wouldn’t be so hard, honestly...
I said I hated you.

Beaten and broken down,
abandoned
by the only one I believed to care,
the only one who knew me
didn't feel so alone in this city
Our closeness lasted a year to the day
we met and lost it all the weekend of our birthday
The things I won’t tell you now
secrets deep inside
I’m always trying to hide.
Truth be told,
we’ll never be the same
cause my heart still hurts
and you don't know what it is to feel true pain.
I read that the tortured stay tortured
Someone like me
The person you no longer see.
It’s not over
just never the way we used to be
Until we turned twenty.

I had a dream
that you never came
to pick me up at the train station
so
I jumped in front of one.

I was always the one
that waited,
Romeo.

we are the youth,
we are the depressed ones,
we are the lonely ones,
we are the heartbroken ones,
we are the confused ones,
we are the youth.

when your bodies aching and you can feel the cold
skin begins to wrinkle are signs your getting old
you feel young in mind but your your body is slow
it is not the same as many years ago
but you just  carry on  like you did before
your still young at heart and young again once more
