Expose yourself to pain,
let it wash over your body like a long awaited sunrise.
Let it cleanse your blood and
coarse through your veins.

Pain was not created to be fought,
the bite love leaves on the way out.
The heart must hurt
before it begins to heal.

My dear when your world begins to fall,
your hands begin to tremble.
Open your heart
and let the hurt begin to heal you.

Why is it that
we romanticize
self-destruction
and buy so heavily
into the archetype
of
tortured artist
tortured soul
and since when did suffering
start to be used
as validation
and survival
and resilience
ignored
as we try to
collect and count
our scars,
only trading them
when something is
to be gained
I'm in a bad mood this morning.
Along the path of righteousness,
rising notions that are limitless;
Promote the lights of love and cheer,
rejecting minds encased in fear.

Inside a world that's mostly gray,
a friendly shadow shows the way;
Into a place which comforts all,
and spirits answer worthy calls.

Among the shadows that reappear,
are those which banish anguished tears;
For when the road seems quite insane,
this friendly shadow takes the reins.

My shadow falls across the land,
preparing me to take a stand;
To help the lowly victims of,
the evil that destroys all love.

And when the dreams of angels die,
a second shadow fills the sky;
Where empty hearts can soon recover,
in vows to cherish one another.

(Candles)

A different kind of wind murmurs
a humming repeatedly echoes
restless birds fly round and round
a ball bounces up, down...back and forth
all of these, amassed in one's awareness
like an itchy patch on the skin,
...nagging...

there're many reasons for sobbing
but few are heard,
cries of discontent, of despair,
of mourning, from waves of violence
man-made, and natural disasters...

babies are born under the sun, 'neath
bridges...growing up, bathing, under the
falling rain, in floodwaters of many seasons,
in rivers without warmth and passion...
they get older...get used to those waters,
becoming dark-skinned...red-skinned,
some remain fair-skinned, with disheveled hair
faces aren't smiling...not all are willing
to share their questions...just their needs...
they need plenty....they seek free time
free knowledge, especially food and shelter,
whatever could be spared...and shared
for them to survive...
the world needs new avenues, new routes
for those reaching out, but could not...

a spark...is where it all starts...
the world needs candles to light
keep them burning bright,
flames, be enforced...empowered
protected from being blown...to resolve
even a bit, of the nagging itch...

one would think...it's kinda impossible
yet the thought is countered right there and then

    with God...nothing is impossible!

Half sleep whispers in the night,
faint yet stubbornly persist.
Words fully formed of
encouragement and regret.
Always in concert with the
background pendulum beat
of a relentlessly ticking clock.
Our lives never as precious as
in those waning years when
time is no longer our friend.
Tick-Tock, tick-tock.

In our attempts
to remain unknown
it's no surprise
how long we're
alone

they say our curiosity sets us apart
but surely a Monkey looks up at the Stars
and wonders..
On a windless day of wandering egos,
which clash against their imperfections;
No longer steeped in greed and grief,
to seek vacant and useless reflections.

As shadows drift along naked trees,
telling macabre stories of imminent plots;
Aspiring to grasp beyond their motives,
twisting all hearts and minds into knots.

If we could only find some refuge,
from these ghostly images that assail;
Upon the innocence the lies far below,
each strong and soulful attempt to prevail.

Life is never what it appears to be,
when solemn darkness invades the heart;
With ghastly sounds of wrenching pain,
in haunting echoes that will not depart.

But shadows often often know their place,
when faith and courage both awaken;
Dispelling fears with strength of Will,
and the good Lord's divine intervention.

you can buy almost anything
I make no apology for being poor

even poetry, here
is bought.
