The reason for death, is life.
if there's a reason for life,
I do not know it.

Nor do I care to.

I digress.

The question itself has reasons.
The answer to which we've all been looking for,
for the entire span of our existence.
Searching ourselves for an answer.

Ever since having said existence
****** so unjustly upon us,
like a suit at a funeral,
or the taste of a stale cigarette.

I dream of the gray between the black and white,
I dream of the deaths between lives,
and I dream of watching the sky
through someone else's eyes.

...and I wonder if it looks the same.

Lost in the clouds where we stored all our dreams.
Fell to the ground in a million tiny drops.
Each one, a wish we don't remember making.

Leapt in the air and broke through atmospheres,
just to get some space.

We carved our names into the face of the sun.
Fell from the stars and hit the ground running.

Devouring You In Poetry**

I awake to tangerine,
red licorice skies
staring at me with
chocolate covered caramel eyes,
creating apple spiced flavored,
cotton candied words
that kaleidoscope
off my tongue,
down my chin
moving my finger tips
to drip
gooey marshmallow
and smiling butterscotch words
across your lavender scented,
sleeping rhythmically
cherry cream *******.
~~~
With desirous morning sighs
your blueberry lips,
and open arms
invite me in;
into your humid jungle folds
to bathe in your gorges
and waterfalls,
unleashing my coppery nouns,
my amethyst adjectives
into your liquid opal synonyms,
devouring me in your rich tones
of ****** poetry.
~~~
With our metaphors
deliciously spent,
and a golden sun
rising toward the moon,
you nestle even closer
and whisper
in alive, wild poppy hues,
“tonight, my love, fill me with haiku,
as I come to you in sonnets.

Left wing to the right wing,
and in between - almost everything.

Spin it back to the first track,
then move ahead - no turning back.

Spread them out,
now we're flying.

A feeling with no reason to doubt.

Notes speak louder than words.
I heard a chord that couldn't be whispered.
Lost in a whirl of secrets I swore I to keep.

Some things are best left unspoken.

A few leaked out.
Distance helped with that.
If the birds don't get them first,
we should be able to find our way back.
This theory is brittle.

Brilliant little lines etched out to stretch the time.
Minds placing X's and O's in an attempt to make straight lines,
but a circle never ends,
so let's pretend we're stuck in spiral.
Swirling through the twisted bits,
like DNA strands spinning in a double helix.
We're nothing but a mix of atoms mashed together.
An explosion of fused matter;
spattering the heavens with our essence.

I am writing these poems
From inside a lion,
And it's rather dark in here.
So please excuse the handwriting
Which may not be too clear.
But this afternoon by the lion's cage
I'm afraid I got too near.
And I'm writing these lines
From inside a lion,
And it's rather dark in here.

You asked what is in my mind
and I told you that you will not like what you find
Yet you insisted I show you around
At first you thought peace and love is what you found

When all of a sudden it began to rain down
and you started crying because you can see my pain now
The struggles I've witnessed and undergone
  Manifested and alive in a row leading on

Welcome to my oblivion I say
and I try to lead you away
But you instead to turned to me and gave me a kiss
Which has always been a sweet bliss

I said what was that for
You stated that there will be many more
To kiss away all my pain
In that moment everything stopped
and so did the rain

Days apart
These tendered times
Of lonely spans
In endless rhymes
Were poets weep
With pen in hand
To send a dream
On written strand
That days will come
From far and near
And in my life
You'll soon be here
When this our love
Again does start
So I won't fear
These days apart
I miss you.

Men are brutal, having stones for a heart
Pain and anguish, these are their work of art
Among them you will live, try to play along
My child, my child, please stay strong

If they attack, they aim for the very soul
To break their prey, that is their standing goal
You will see them hunting all day long
My child, my child, please stay strong

In their eyes, you will never see remorse
To conscience, they have long been divorced
Cries and shouts to them are a lovely song
My child, my child, please stay strong

Someday, my child, this will all be history
Love and compassion, they will one day come to be
But for now, you will live amongst monsters
My child, my child, please stay strong

have you ever asked yourself like why you so lonely?*

01:53 am
or empty?

that maybe you give too much of your essence to people and never leave any of you for yourself

01:55 am
i know i do

02:05 am
and like that's maybe why i get so attached to humans

because in them,
i find myself

02:07 am
i need to change, because things shouldn't be this way

02:10 am
but it's hard sometimes you know, when most days you don't leave the house because you feel unworthy of the space you take up

02:16 am
so you'd much rather disintegrate into soil because you've become all too familiar with people stepping over you and admiring the outcome of your beauty but never the roots of your pain

02:19 am
i spend so much effort watering people in order for them to grow and hardly get enough sun shine to feed my own soul

02:25 am*
because i don't know how to do anything else but care for everyone but myself

What happens to deleted poems?
Do they go to the same place as aborted children?
Somewhere between heaven and hell.
A purgatory perpetuated by the misery of doubting one's self.
Maybe they condense into clouds like vapor into rain,
only to eventually fall back down upon our heads again.
In the pained expression you wear on your face,
I can read nearly a thousand words unsaid.
Just say them.
