You
I'm touched by your sadness.
The eyes so warm, your smile so tender -
but the fire burned to embers ~
and as much as I'd like to reignite,
I cannot reach out to you.
A chilling gale, unrelenting,
blows against my face.
So I wrap my arms around your bare chest and rest
my cheeks against your back.
These moments, where you feel so close...
you are so far gone, ahead in heart and years...
So I gift you my warmth and watch
your sleep, feeling colder
with every breath I take.
How can someone as wise as you not know?
That the eye of the storm is serene,
but also chilling to the bone.
Deep down I know, we are the same,
you and I...

I'm in love with your smell,
your smile, your eyes, your mind.
And so I squeeze these lines
out of my soul wishing you
would find, so wishing...

We are like the moon and the sun.
Meant to encircle one another
in eternal dance
forever out of reach
never to touch...

Dependant on your light to shine
A slave to your gravity
In love with my best friend. I wish it could change.
these thoughts...
they are my own,
walled within the deepest recesses
of my
cerebral labyrinth.

sprouting out of vine covered walls,
are multicoloured blooms
brandishing thorned stems
and
thirsty stigmas,
dripping with
absinthe.

mind full of poison in
permissible amounts...
i am caught in a
web of restless stupor,
anguish...
and regression...

these thoughts...
rationed out sparingly,
for they're not for unready ears
blooms of thought meticulously
triaged before
necessary expulsion.

hairline cracks between
insanity
and peace...
i tread precariously
the fine,
meandering line.

still clutching my flowers
in a tight obstinate grasp...
not letting go
for these tainted blossoms
are
undoubtedly
mine.
Sweet green alchemy!
Let’s drink to forget the pain,
Love’s absence and strife.
Edit repost.
Will you find me faster next time
Before perception binds me to duty
To a life I was never meant to lead

Will you search relentlessly
Until we are joined once again
Before fairytales fall from reality

Will you remember that we are bonded and bound
And be compelled to feel whole
On loves crusade until we meet again

Will you know me as you always have
Through millennia to eternity
Never resting until we are one

Will the road to me be found more quickly
Wasting no time building a life united
Sharing all we are meant to share

Should the slumber of darkness find me
Will you find me faster next time

You really have to watch those liberal males,
they'll spend hours and hours with you having
deep intellectual conversations.

They'll discuss deep ideas, contemplate esoteric
theory and spiritual ideas. They'll make love
for hours and write deep and meaningful poetry
about you. Sure, they will probably wear their hair
long and most likely won't own a television.

But, they'll understand art and architecture and
literature. It's true that they probably won't give two
shakes about who won what football game, but they'll
dance with you late at night under the stars and they're
always looking for new ways to please you and usually
understand your deepest thoughts, often before you
understand them yourself.

They'll be your best friend and always treat you as
an equal, in fact, it will never even enter their mind
that you're not. They're almost always physically fit, too,
because they're usually the outdoorsy type and love to hike.
They never make fun of others, or discuss small ideas.
They enjoy discussing ways to improve the world and
the lives of others.

Sure, they won't slap you on your *** and tell you to get in
the kitchen and cook them some dinner and bring them a beer
while you're at it like those macho men on the right. Instead
they'll probably tell you to relax while they whip you up a
gourmet meal and serve it to you on the best dishes.

Yeah, you really gotta watch out for those liberal males.
I wrote this in response to a derogatory comment about liberal men.
