men and their egos (I turned twenty this summer) are
inseparable
insufferable

begrudgingly
they admit “guess you were right”
believing that will make them heroes,
by full on confessing they are *******

I turned twenty in the summer

my tan legs in cutoffs (it’s summer) drives them to madness,
accused, you are pitiless, for their dreams of you involve ransom
still, you
search and quiet plead like Abraham, to the heated air,
while listening to Whitney Houston and Ed Sheeran,
(on your earbuds just so nobody knows your weakness)
for just that one good man in the township of
***** and Gomorrah

my mother bitter sneers good luck with that,
forgetting I am now twenty years
so old, so advanced,
that my hopes and aspirations are no longer those
the ones in my high school yearbook

my poetry fills pages,
a human urban renewal,
laying out a city of hope

recalling that ***** and Gemorrah were destroyed

Take me into the depths.
Show me the underwater beast,
the Leviathan, the oceanic Medusa,
the wet, slithering, Hydra.
Let me breathe in the sick algae,
and bury my eyes in floating sand.
Fill my lungs with coral and stone,
and grind my feed to stumps
so I never escape.
Bind my hands with a seaweed embrace,
and let me bite the fisherman's hook,
fool such that I am.
Worthless drifting piece of trash
cast into the ocean tides,
starved of affection,
and bitter in the world.
Drag me down into the depths
and leave me there
where I belong.
Stay Humble

Stay Strong

Stay You....

ALWAYS
Always remember these few words....

I met a boy –
in the middle of the ocean, with no prenotions.

Eyes soft as the waves –
rocking us down our way, smooth sailing my way.

I knew it wouldn’t turn into something bigger –
than a summer crush, a summer fling.

We were just living in the moment –
living young, wild, and free.

Out on the Caribbean –
where the sun shines brighter than I’ve ever seen –

I shared a kiss under the stars,
with a stranger, only at 17.

Didn't matter how many stories we told
bout the lives we lived back on the shore,

We were just basking in our short-lived loving –
lost on the ocean, my storybook romance –

I’ll forget your name, I'm sure you’ll forget mine,
but I won’t forget your face or our time.

No strings attached is a little too extreme…

It was just innocent lovin’ on the seven seas.
He had the most beautiful eyes, I swear...
Sobriety is hurt...
Washin' away with evey drop into my soul,
I have seen your face and the memories of us in the dark sparkle of my whiskey.
So I keep drinking...
These sips draw a shelter of your face beneath my eyes.
In bounds outside sobriety lies peace.
And...
My lady love...
It's the only place I find You,
I want to speak and talk all darkness long,
Til you see my secrets and phobias.
And kiss 'its okays' to my imperfections.
"Venir jeudi soir", she said.
Ma dulcinèe...
I want to synchronize my guitar to your hearts-beats and taste the music.
'Venir jeudi soir', she said
'It means, come Thursday night'
Stagnant air
Filling your lungs
Beautiful sounds
Become noise as one
Light shines
Through the darkness
Tangible objects
Disappear in thin air
Smelling things
That are no longer there
Seeing sights
Through a blind persons eyes
Stepping into someone else’s shoes
Just for one minute
Can open your senses
Giving you a world of a surprise
