Eyes are beautiful, crystalline structures yet somehow rounded.
Eyes are poetic.
But there are some eyes
That you can truly see the stars in.
You can see the universe bubbling down the river of time,
Our planet twirling its way through the ballroom of our solar system
You can see everything inside, a window.
But at the same time, you can see everything out of it, too.
I can see myself within.
My own hopes, my own memories
Cast back at me with a fresh perspective
*The stars are in your eyes,
So be careful not to be blinded.
To flowers
You're the hero.
You.
You lead your own life.
You find your own beauty.
You solve your own problems.
You live through your own dreams,
moments, loves, losses, and most importantly...
You are perfect in your imperfection.
Never forget it.
Take care of yourself.

I hate you
I despise you
We've been in this war
For some time now
Guns loaded
Hand on trigger
Aim precise
Only there is something holding me back
Something that won't let me pull that trigger
Maybe it's the fact I don't hate you
Or perhaps the fact that this is all a deception
A mare allusion in my mind
Because I've yet to say how I feel outloud
But when I do
That is when the bullet with soar
Bam

the lights are turned way down low, so we drop it accordingly

like dance baby dance cause we have never looked this good

because I bought this dress for this moment and it was worth every penny

cause most of this make up is my mothers but it feels like it was meant for me

and I pull at your tie like its taffy,

see my lips taste like candy, my eyes look like chocolate, and you twirl me around like caramel, so I feel just as golden

tonight life is sweet

like dance baby dance cause right now your feet aren't hurting

like dance baby dance cause a beat won't ever feel this good

like dance baby dance, tonight I am all brown sugar, legs, and liquor in desserts

so dance baby, they can't take their eyes off of us,

dance like no one is watching

                                              because god knows everybody is

Daniel Magner
She was one of those girls. Easy to love, bright, but when the season changed she was full of rain and overflowing gutters. I could get an umbrella, even a small boat to ride her waves, but she would always sink me. Just before I could drown in her waters she would give me CPR in the form of Spring kisses. Rays of sun shone through her eyes.
For two years I managed to survive through her storms just long enough to bask in her ever flitting warmth. Our one year anniversary threatened to rip me limb from limb, she was a tornado that day. Flowers and home made pasta blew away her storm clouds, just barely.
When two years rolled around I must have looked like a weathered sailor, knowing the exact moment to pull the sails, or when to just hang on and ride the rolling seas. So when she sat down one day and said,
“I can’t do this anymore.”
I just froze, caught completely off guard.
“I love you like…a brother.”
I started taking my ship into shore, to retire, maybe become a mountain man.
“I can’t talk to you…”
I pulled into the harbor, turned around, and set my vessel on fire. No more storms for me, no more blessed, tropical trips either. As the tip of my ship’s mast sank into the water, I let out a sigh of relief, shaved my beard, and disappeared down the coast.

Now that I'm back in creative writing classes I'm doing much different forms if writing, though I will still try to jot down poetry when I can.
