Only the little things keep me alive
your eyes, and this cigarette
the cup of tea I drink in the morning
and the way your lips move when you say my name.
Only you keep me alive
your hair, your hands and the way they move in my body.
Only you keep me alive, so don't leave.

This is my lyrical masterpiece
Is somebody reading this?
I'll take you up so high
Adrenaline will make you fly
Do you think that you know me?
There's nobody like me!
Do you think you can handle
My lyrical ramble?
Do you think you can see me?
My mind and my dreams be
Do you think you can hear me
my voice loud and clear, see?
You know you don't know me
You don't even know you!
Oh wait --
Stop and see --
I don't even know me!
What, I think I'm a rapper now?

I lay my head down on the pillow and turn onto my side to see the emptiness of the sheets beside me where you once slept. A tear travels down my face... You messed up and got yourself locked up. You're not a bad man, but a good man who makes bad choices. Now, you lie in that cell and I in our bed alone waiting for the day that you can return home. My eyes fill up in tears as I place my hand to the dent in the mattress where your shoulder once laid. I miss making love to you on those nights you would wake up and stir me from my sleep. We were perfect; you and I. Well, not perfect, but perfect in our eyes.

The autumn leaves float down around me,
While summer sun shines overhead.
Winter winds blow harshly down.
I hide my hands inside
My coat, and notice
Nature can't make
Up her mind
About
Me

The smoke fills the air all around,
Soldier's voices become strangled sounds.

They drop dead quickly all about the field,
All their emotions and fears are concealed.

To die for their country would make their families proud,
No one knew that the silent screams of the dead could be so LOUD!

The smells of the fallen are so strong,
It will be forever in survivor's minds life-long.

The stories and the sadness fill their hearts,
No one could tell that on the inside they were falling apart.

Some died in the ****** cracks that smelt,
Never to be heard of again in the deathly trenches of Hell.
This is a project I had based on the Horrors of WW1.
