Julia
"Something along those lines, yes."
& that's just it, that's what I am--
something that can never quite walk the line;
shy-girl, watching-girl,
always-on-the-tip-of-my-tongue-girl,
dancing around the main idea,
the true center of the words.
I am along the lines,
between the notes,
& you are the greatest symphony.

DieingEmbers
On silken wings and silken strings
the garden doth awake
and from their beds those sleepy heads
their petals gently shake
a snail or two say how are you
as bumblebees take wing
to nectar sweet with sticky feet
as skylarks start to sing
a ladybug sleeps yet so snug
beneath a quilted leaf
her dreams untold as wings unfold
as earthworms crawl beneath
the ants at work refuse to shirk
they have no time to play
and cabbage whites like stars at night
take flight and fly away
the field mouse and wooded louse
attract the watchful eye
of tawny owl and feathered fowl
that own the morning sky
a homeward cat puts pay to that
no bird is fool enough
to try to land where danger stands
All teeth and claws called Fluff
so morrow breaks and nature wakes
and soon enough will we
but until then this land of men
is theirs so naturally

She Should Know
 Oct 2013 hello
-
She's very insecure
I know that
But if only she knew
She is my kinda perfect

Flaws and all
Still beautiful

She frowns upon herself
And her looks
But if only she knew
She's the greatest book
On the dusty shelf

That need to show
What she should
Already know
About herself
And her place
In my heart

I love you.
 Oct 2013 hello
-
you're on my mind
like you were last night
and the day before that

you're in my dreams
always visiting me
one of the reasons
I prefer to be asleep
because my fantasies
are better than reality

you're in my thoughts
I kinda hope I'm in yours
because I have a burning desire
to reignite what used to be ours

Far Away Love
 Oct 2013 hello
-
Your love shines
Sends out sparks
But you're a ghost
I can't hold you tight

I cannot see you
But I sure feel you
I cannot touch you
But I can dream I do

You bring me a handful of love
And that is more than enough
Even if I can't see your face
I can sense your heart
Embracing mine

People say we aren't right
But love can't be wrong
You are my lover
You are the light
Because of you
My heart is strong

We had our downfalls
Our share of flaws
But we corrected
Our mistakes
And now
We're in love
Again.

This is meant to be a song, but it can be a poem too.
Just followed a rhythm and wrote this.
 Oct 2013 hello
Scarlet London
don't let yourself fall in love
with that boy who plays bass
whispers jokes that make your face go red from not being able to breathe
and immediately holds you the day you come back
don't hang onto his every word
nor take note of the way his eyes catch fire
like a sheet of paper over an open flame
every single time he tells you how much he adores to make music
don't let his mannerisms dictate you
when his arms find you on a daily basis
when you ignore the teachings about diffraction and ray diagrams
just to listen to whatever is on his wonderfully, woefully confusing mind
because soon enough
you'll be writing him poems online using a fake name
and staying up till four am
thinking about how his voice cracks and quivers when he sings seven nation army
about how excited he gets to play you something he has written
about the sideways glances he gives you when you try to get his attention
about the places his hands reside every single time he touches you
and about the way his lips tasted like starburst jelly beans and cherry pepsi on that sunny wednesday afternoon
he completely inverts your perception of the world
and now matter how much you want to
don't
fall
in
love
with
him.

A Mink
We all have wolves,
Hidden beneath our sheep.
A smile concealing
The debilitating anguish
That consumes every cell.

Laughter choking the soul
With vines of self loathing and contempt.
Enduring every second of
Soul shredding agony
Thinking of you bestows
Upon me.

The ghost of your love
Haunting every thought.
Blades slicing every inch of flesh
bleeding me dry would be
Welcomed.

If only to forget you...
For only a moment...

Belonging
 Oct 2013 hello
Aggie
I like it here.

Damp air clinging to my skin, clinging to my clothes,
Grey skies laughing at pewter water,
Wind tossed seagulls reeling passed
Individual calls demanding attention; their joint voice hushing into the soundtrack of this place.
Buildings cluttered together for protection from blasting winter gales,
Yet all jostling for a glimpse of the harbour.
Guess in their own sleepy ways they like the thrill of danger.
Their red tiles roofs so reminiscent of Mediterranean towns,
But inescapably speak of home.

People traipse past, creating the shifting landscape of this place.
Their own lives and concerns mingling to create a vast sea of humanity,
Mirrored by the roiling sea...

Just beyond the safety of
This harbour.
This bench.
This packet of vinegar soaked chips.

I'm glad it's you here with me
Glad I can feel your soul soar with mine at the salty air and eroded stone.
Beside me
Hunched into your coat
Gazing out.

We don't touch
But I feel you there
With me.
