The sense of quiet understanding
As two strangers take cover from the rain

I found you slumped on the kitchen floor
Arms wrapped around yourself as you gaze at the tile pattern
It's times like this when I can't tell
What's going on inside your mind
All I can tell is that your thoughts seem to be going
200 miles an hour
Spiraling from one misery to the next
When you notice my stare
You get up claiming to need some air
And what can I do but leave you there?

Water pools around her feet
Constant stream of ripples
The river reflects bright light
As the girl sings a sweet melody
I watch from afar
Wishing I could sing along
To the sweet river girl

Poetry is not about
How many words
You write
But rather
What words
You write

Kisses were stolen among the
Shelves of the  library

The spines of books the only witnesses
to clumsy yet ardent mouths

They watched, standing as silent sentinels
As we fell deeper into the web of each other

I can see it in your eyes
And I can taste it in your lips
I feel it on your wrists
Why are you in such pain?

I'm stuck in the mobius strip
An infinite loop

And just when it looks like the end is near
I'm back where I started
How do I escape this mobius strip?

I didn’t realize
I had fallen in love
Until I noticed
My eyes straying
From the clouds
And onto you

Another night in which I find myself arguing with God
As he mutter about how lost my mother is
I tell him, "But my mother hits me"
"She ignores me"
"She doesn't care about me"
And yet he continues with his mutter
Forgetting about my troubles
And all I can do is shout,
"She HATES me!!"
Yet once again he doesn't seem to hear me
I get it
No one does

Hate is bred from love
That’s what makes
This world of ours
As miserable
As it is

the world stops for no one,
but, maybe, it might
slow down for us, my love

Burn, and let the sparks engulf you
Scorching your skin
In order to strengthen your mind

The pressure
Is building up
Inside this
Skin container
And it's going
To blow

The swings lets out a screech

And as I rock back and forth
A melody is heard
This little swing set
Seems to be playing a sad tune
For me
