Dr Peter Lim
It's a thousand things--poetry-
like the myriad themes of a symphony
embodying all aspects of life and human nature
the beauty, the joy, the angst, the pain, the fever-

mankind in search of meaning and purpose
in its inexhaustible and unbearable thirst
dim and deceptive is the horizon
vision and sense of direction are stolen-

where's the light to be found?
   Where's the firm holding ground?
What will follow on the morrow?
Would it be the re-visitation of joy or sorrow?

It's the perennial role of poetry
to remind us of our dignity and humanity
to look squarely at the face of nonchalant time
to reach out to the stars to live a life that's sublime

Odd Odyssey Poet
My emotions are trapped, reverberating
like a haunting echo bouncing back and forth.
In my youth, I read that wealth is in the mind;
does this imply that only contemplating
about riches can manifest all the fortune I want?

And am I in haze of indulgence – thinking
only about ****, whenever my responses
come out blunt?

When you move between your family
And the things you still want
Do you yearn
Or are you
Reconciled with
That was the things
That don't count
Is it fresh in your memory
Or do you smile at its
Going
Content with the fact
You kept the human race growing
This is life
This family
This is the way that we are
Dreams o specialness
Get devoured by truth
In the needs o the hours.

I love life
I have not changed
The world has not hardened me
I won't play their game

I love life
I'm still the same
Even in this crazy world
I overcome the pain

I love life
It's the only one I have to live
There's no time for pettiness
I have more love to give
