Shadow Apr 2020
And the days are not full enough
And the nights are not full enough
And life slips by like a field mouse
      Not shaking the grass
And every night that passes by leaves me more empty than the one before...
Shadow Apr 2020
The moon peered through the clouded sky
as sun set on the mountains high
she wondered if they knew below
the things she'd seen in all her glow

the scurry of this human race
caught in circles fast embrace
locked within their sinful ways
repeat rewind replay each day

once she'd felt their softest touch
pin ***** of a flag pole ******
marked as if they owned her now
such foolish man in foolish hour

wars, floods, pandemic woes
shifting lands seasides flows
burning landscapes ice age fraught
man oh man what next be brought

the moon peered through the clouded sky
weeping clouds her only cry
heal man of earthly woes
heal so i may once more glow
Shadow Apr 2020
walking this earth
searching for the sunrise
everywhere I went
I saw your blue eyes

some said you were
nothing but a dream
I held you once for
a moment, it seems

here I stand, I'm facing the end
knowing well, soon death will descend
I see your face as it was that day
so close to me where I lay

from town to town
I fought for what was right
in our love's name
I stuck to the light

the darkness called
to me everyday
you were the only thing
that kept it at bay

here I stand, I'm facing the end
knowing well, soon death will descend
I see your face as it was that day
so close to me where I lay

there's only time to
whisper one last goodbye
smiling at you, my
life departs with a sigh....

In case you hadn't noticed
And if it was not explained
The world spins on its axis
It couldn't be more plain.

It often spins in circles
Leaving echoes there behind
Small arcs of light and shadow
Lighting up my restless mind.

It speaks in thoughts and whispers
Like wreaths of mist and smoke
A wreath of faith and science
Like wheels of spinning spokes.

These are the days we follow
A spiral staircase heaven bound
Winding through the cloud-banks
A long way upwards from the ground.

Jason
Standing in a forest
Of people I don’t love or need
She’s solid as walnut tree
And rooted like religious creed

Blowing in the wind
She bends and stretches to the sun
Moving with a ballet grace
With wild hair the air has spun

Steady on the upland
She rules the woodland of my world
Deep within the darkest grove
She’s calling me with words unfurled

But she will not yellow
Or let her love turn shades of red
She Is for me my evergreen
Till the two of us are sadly dead

We will lay together
In cask made of the clearest pine
And we will not be parted
Because the woman is true mine.

One tick, one tock
I drag around myself in sleep
Breathe in, breathe out
A heavy sigh escapes from me
Tomorrow becomes today
I try my best to stretch the night
Until the sun comes up
Until i can wake up

My body's tired
My mind is too
Still in a state i drug myself
Shadows forming around the corners of my eyes
My lids are heavy but my mind is aloof
A void
A vast space leading to nowhere but is everywhere
Every night I cover myself with it
