Teach me
 May 2021 Joe Quaale
love
Let me live,
The way lotous blooms on mud.
Let me live,
The way mountain stands on earth.

Let me have a voice,
Not just your judgement.
Let me have a choice
Not just your ignorance.

Teach me virtue,
With it teach me acceptance.
And teach me to love,
The perfume of my essence.

My boat
 May 2021 Joe Quaale
love
Not a single blow of wind,
Pushes my boat further.
Nothing plays with its sail,
So it neither goes north nor south.

Rain,
Hurrican,
Storm,
They all come and go.

But my boat sits there,
In the middle of the sea.
As if the forces of nature don't exist,
It sits there awaiting nothing.

I wish

I wish I could write,
The way the poets do,
Then my words could make you cry,
But for now, I will cry alone.

I wish I could love,
The way the lovers do,
Then my eyes would follow yours,
But for now, they will linger alone.

I put my heart on the pages of my favorite book, such that you will trace each word to know me better/ I will place my love in the core of my favorite things, such that you will see why I treasure it so much/I am sorry if I won't kiss you because my passion doesn't lie on my lips/It's not the texture of skin that I crave but for the eyes read the soul within/If you were to ever leave me I wouldn't be living in your head/I would be in the shadows of the things present, at the places that we met.

Memory

love
The vastness of the ocean,
Can't capture the gleam in your eyes.
In the dark woods,
The vanity of my life.
It will be your soul, that will glow,
Hope in the dire times.
Today will forever shift into tomorrow,
But it will be you that will stay the same.
Even in memory,
It will never be nostalgic,
That's the way you will remain.

Is it only me who sees reality
Or
Is it actually not what I see

I have a perfect cover
