Do you still love me?
Are we falling out of time
like a match once struck
cries against pavement
slabs after one good use?
I wonder these things over
a round mug of black coffee.
Beans swept away by
a turning teaspoon.
Dissolving into one
lovely, jumbled mess.
I wonder, I wonder.

Rising and falling
Breathing in and breathing out
Deeper and deeper.
Meditation.

Bring me back summers
with open fires and laughter,
until then, shiver.

To love you now means to love you from distance
My eyes swelling,
Heart desolate and longing
For the sound of your voice,
Warmth of your embrace

In the midst of despairing days,
Dreary nights
And sorrowful worries
Here, I love you from afar

In loving you there is no tomorrow;
Only today
If the world crushes on a beam of light in this moment,
Will I ever see you again?

I drink my morning coffee,
gulp after gulp,
searching for sanity
in the bottom of the cup

In the morning rain
the birds sing their sweetest songs;
Melancholy howls.
A miserable haiku, for a miserable morning.
