Every drop that falls
Is part of an echo
Distanced by the valley
Surrounded by the mountains
Carried by the winds
Silenced by the rain
Joining the million
On an untraveled path
Into little streams
To make a waterfall

Distanced by the valleys
Carried by the winds
Since ancient times
Absorbed by the roots
Nourishing the soul
Of Mother Earth

A drop into eternity
Journey it takes, joyfully
Joined by a million
To be
A part of the whole
Eternally

Is it raining too much tonight?
Is the thunder giving you a fright?
No, my love, don’t fear the sky—
The Almighty’s just passing by,
Taking pictures with every light,
Of the masterpiece in His sight.

You can keep Manhattan
And all its yellow flashing lights,
The drunken piggybacks, those freezing nights.
Where our laughter poured out on the side of the street.
Where taxis rushed past, and the steam kissed our feet.
A place where staircases swirled with time,
And like Escher, the rules didn’t align.

Take Central Park where you zipped up my leather;
Your fingers trembling, but not from the weather.
The kisses and the closeness that came right after,
But now those thoughts - they ache, not laughter.

Staring on the subway, we ignored our fate.
You can keep 38th and 6th Avenue’s weight.
Resting our heads on one another as the skyline flew.
Now I need some clouds that will soften my view.
I’ll give way now to the valley sky,

Where mountains lean close and the hills roll by.
Because the memory of Manhattan beats loud in my chest.
And I…
I just really need to rest.
There are oak trees here, oh they are wide and they are true.

And though I’m sometimes blue without you.
You can keep the memory of Manhattan,
Will you do that for me?
Keep it in your pocket, the white shirt with the bee.
So that I don’t hold onto the glimmer of the past.
You can keep Manhattan.
I’ll take the green lights, the green hills,
The rising sun and the sweet stillness that lasts
Deja Vu moments
Did I already write this
Deja Vu moment?
It was my love
that gave you
the power to
hurt me.

I forgive your lies,
Do me a favour? Just once.
Pretend to love me

Funny how simple choices go
When you stand between the wall
And the sword
To risk suffering or die soon
That's as simple a choice
As they come
They don't make them like this
So often
Anymore

How seriously
Do you want to know the time
Because I will seriously
Look it up
If that's what you really want
And even if this
Sounds rather unserious
I will seriously help you
If only because I also know
How unserious one can get
When that unnatural feeling
Of time running out
Envelops one's mind
And yet we could just simply
And unseriously
Ignore the time
At all

Someone has to kick Disney
out of all our heads
and break the bad news
to all those poor young girls
now in their 30s and 40s
still waiting for prince charming
But let's not forget
the poor young boys too
who have been broken so many times
they'd rather stay alone forever
The true romantics
for they tried to make things happen
rather than waiting for things to happen
To
Them
Which makes the shock of reality
All
