Pile them up
stack stone on stone
hold each one
bone on bone
feel the rocks
between your fingers
rough and smooth
the feeling lingers
weigh each pebble
in your hand
lift it from the shifting sand
let it fall from where it came
to a rock it's all the same
one tiny part of an endless game!
Rocks are patient!

Love is so contagious
It’s like an infectious plague
The symptoms are
Tears
Pain
Fear
Heartache
And it’s hardly curable
dripping as tears
falling,
running down
the face. It makes

for a smaller candle
as it sheds its skin. But just as
tears shed from broken
hearts bled a new

life is created. Built-up
wax is soft as it runs
creating as yarn
that is spun. Making a sweater

of tears that provides
us warmth
through the
cold years. So,

weave my woman
tears as wax. Just relax
and let it flow. That's how
oceans grow.

Some nights
I crack a window
to let out the stink
of darkness

unsheathe my knife
and think of carving
free my eyes

tossing them high
into a pine
so that they can see
all that isn’t going on
around me

instead I let the sharp
hard winter winds
of black starlight in

to fan the flames
of lonesome desire.
