I saw my tree today
The one in the big open field

It was raining
My socks were wet
My legs tired from the walk
But it was perfect

I placed my hand on the textured bark
I felt so whole
And infinite

I was home

Walking around it in circles
My hand stroking it as I do
Just like I had done
What seems like forever ago

Memories come
Flow in
Like a peaceful stream

It's just like the tree next to it
And the one next to that
But this one was mine

Not because I planted it
But because I felt it pull me in
Even when I was a little girl
Even then
I felt we were one
(this note was written by a staircase that leased to another staircase that leased to another staircase)
You've left the room
You are arguing with people
Who are simply not there
You cross your arms
Bulge your eyes
Half a laugh
To prove that you don't care
About the points
This ******* getting in
That prove you're a fool
Elbows hot
Squinted eyes
the opposite of cool
Thank Christ this only happens to me in the pub
Pity these poor recorded public speakers
Forever cast in their throb.

~

i saw a bee today
and thought about you.
i thought about your jeans
the ones with the bees
embroidered on the sides.
i thought about how you looked that day.
i thought about the way you smiled at me
with wide eyes peering into my soul.
i thought about how; with just a glance
you’d cut me open
everything laid out
displayed for you.
i thought about how much i’d stare
how bad i’d crave our eyes to meet
each time, longer than the last.
i thought about how with you around
the world would melt away
how time would bend between us.
i thought about you
like wet teeth on soft skin
our meetings with god
our midnight sin
i saw a bee today
and thought about you.

She  was disprivilged
Left so dejected
Rejected from from her Earthly paradise

The rose fell off
but the brier whereon it grew remains
