The tenderness
Of his touch
Was almost
Too much
Yet entirely
Just enough

Was it love
Or was it lust
The second
They knew
Little of

So they Mixed
Love
With lust
Adding a brush
Of trust

And with each
Tantalizing ******
They melded
The Art of Paper Hearts
Perfectly blending
Their canvas
A bed
Of trust

When In Rome
MaryJane Doe Apr 2014
Sometimes
I wake tired
Of waiting all alone
Sometimes
The place I live
Doesn't feel like my home
So I close my eyes
And I let my mind roam

Scape Goat Over Coat
MaryJane Doe Apr 2014
Excuse me
as I slip into
my scape goat
over coat
From its safety
I pull a note
that I wrote
last night
just after the fight
I gained my sight
and away i did write
But this morning I woke
not half as bold
just cold
so excuse me
as I slip into
my scape goat
over coat
hand you a note
and walk away
like I never intended to stay anyway
I'm cold
as I leave
heart tucked under the sleeve
of my scape goat over coat
only leaving
this heartless heartfelt note

Operation
MaryJane Doe Apr 2014
She thinks she can change him
Re arrange & re engage him
Bring him back to life
She's screaming for a scalpal
She needs a knife!

She's loosing him fast
As the monitors hum
But she wont let him pass
His lifes not yet done

The line hums flat
But shes ready to operate
From where she sat
It was never too late

She thinks she can change him
Re arrange & re engage him
Bring him back to life
Shes screaming for a scalpal
She Needs a knife!

The Fall : A Day Trip
MaryJane Doe Apr 2014
They say
Only father time can tell
But I never hear him speak
So I listen to mother nature
For the answers
That I seek
Instinct
Woven
Into my jeans
The fabric of life
Those itty bitty things
Just strings
A theory
Connecting the dots
As I search for the answers
Amongst forget me not 's

Only Ever After
MaryJane Doe Apr 2014
You spoke
Threw malt
Flavored lips
       Your hands
   On my hips
With *****
      Finger tips
               And the lies
           In your lines
       I had heard
        Many times
              Only
                      Ever
                          After
                      One
                           Two
                      Many
                           Sips

Window Pane
MaryJane Doe Apr 2014
I exhaled
and watched you go
as the smoke cleared
your warmth remained
a constelation
of condensation
the essence of me
caught on the window
I traced your name
and thought...
window pain

Poetic Injustice
MaryJane Doe Apr 2014
In her poetic attraction
She found satisfaction
And the man in her bed
Was not the man in her head
He would never share the beauty
She held in her mind
As she watched him sleep
Knowing full well
He was blind
But a poets mind
Is hard to find
And loneliness
Is none too kind
So she swallowes her pride
Lying ,
With the man in her bed
While drifting off
To the one in her head

Penny For Your Thought
MaryJane Doe Apr 2014
Penny for your thought?
I know it's not much
But it's all I got

The air is heavy and hot
I need your touch
Too much... I can not

Are you the man I sought
I have a hunch
But it's all I got

Wants forever fought
I need you a bunch
To much... I can not

These feelings will surely rot
Becoming my much
But it's all I got

Your secrets can't be bought
Price tag reads zilch
Too much... I can not
Sorry to put you on the spot

Short Life Lessons
MaryJane Doe Apr 2014
She jotted the moment
Capturing it in essence
   And he watched
As she scribbled
  Short life lessons
She wanted to remember
The hunger in his eyes
  As her pen jotted on
       It could tell no lies
  She wrote the word lonely
           In a silent cry
   This man was no poet
Left only to question
        Why?

Stale Mate
MaryJane Doe Apr 2014
Hail to thee
  Thy restless
    Queen
       Shant let
Her subjects
      Down
For these things
    She has seen
   She bare
      Thy heavy
    Crown

In our black
& white battle
  A pawn
Took her rook
   As she leapt
Into saddle
Sworn to behead
   All pawns & crooks

She rules by her rules
  As she captures the knight
        Jesters and fools
   Shant distract her tonight

For thy queen
   Shant find sleep
In this kingdom
    Of hate
  Her word
     She shall keep
She will have her
  Check Mate
