Life imitates art
Gerhard Oct 13
Art
subjective yet objective

Life
Growth, reproduction, functional activity
Meaning, purpose, goals

Does the living imitate the subject?
History is doomed to repeat itself.

Subjects once inspired art-
Why can't they inspire us now?

We have nothing to lose
As Epimetheus stood open-handed to us-
no inherent gifts

Yet we can
become art
romanticize each aspect
be your own subject
your life the canvas

Let your life
imitate art

The subject, but the artist nonetheless

Desire
Gerhard Oct 8
Burn
Fire
Lust
Passion

My eyes burn without your figure to soothe them

Fire spreads over my body caused by the absence of your skin against mine

Burn
Fire
Lust
Passion

My body is overcome with desire. Lust floods my being and can only be reduced by bestowing my endowment in you.

Passion
That is what this is.
This is what I feel
for
You.

Filler-Days
Gerhard Oct 8
Eyes burning
Head spinning
Palms dry

What is happening?
What am i doing?

Will it be worth it in the end?

Will i remember these filler-days as much as the valuable ones?

True is a moment of the false
False?

Head spinning
Eyes burning
Palms dry

Have i done this to myself?

A victim of my own devices standing stoically blue.

Beauty
Gerhard Oct 8
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Beauty.

When I behold your figure in my mind’s eye I want to burst into flames

Consumed
Engulfed
by the fire of my desire

I wish my eyes could feast on the radiant glow which emanates from your figure once more

Beauty.

I behold your figure in my mind’s eye, yet I have to wonder if my figure is ever in your mind’s eye

Consumed
Engulfed
By the flames of my desire yet I am never the object
The recipient
My figure is never in someone’s mind’s eye

Beauty.

Is that what I lack ?
Or am I destined to be the beholder and not the beholden

Beauty?
