A thunderous boom, I'm quivering
They make my heart start flickering,
Yet there's a strand of light, glimmering.

A mindful awaken, I'm hovering
A burning, hopeful heart, smouldering
Yet they all keep on it, tampering
So they leave me alone, wondering.

Pain is seemingly eternal
It always seems that way.
They know not, it is ethereal
So 'stay on it' they say
Unknowingly they keep asking

I used to be joyful, happy and glad
I used to sing in the rain
Regardless of being full of lark,
I used to dance with my bared mind.

And as she came along,
Uplifted I was.
She made me sing with even more
Joy, happiness and gladness.

With her on my mind,
I went to quietly rest,
With her on my chest,
My fears I mindlessly wrest.

But an illusion she was,
She left me alone after a while.
She needed me not,
While I was left all to rot.

I'm like an ant in a sideway,
Like a butterfly in a park
Pretty to look at,
Yet not substantial to have.

But then I found it,
