the tree's roots reaching down to hell and branches soaring up to the heavens reminds of us of the duality that dwells within.

lest we forget our immortality, the fallen giants of the forest reminds us that immortality forgets no one - we all return to feed the earth.
You're one of those people
With mind's eye like an eagle's
You say all the right things
But never ever feel them
Life is much the poorer for it
The art of dissembling
Is your mark of distinction
And I who sees everything
And feels everything
With a bleeding heart
Sorely miss the days of old
When a yes was a yes
And a no was a NO
Even without a shake of the head
How I wish diplomacy and all artifice
Had never become   human tools
The way things are between us
We are heading for a big crash
It rose beneath our feet,
A rock, a testament to days we lost,
It trembled with our hearts,
And shook us free from selfish dreams,
To fix our eyes above,
Below,
Around,
Outside ourselves,
To care about the colour of the sky,
Or the way grass smells in the morning,
Or the intricate patterns in an insect's wing,
And our horizon grew,
And fell out from our grasp,
And ran towards the sun,
Which began to rise in the mornings,
Set in the evenings,
And every so often,
Mingle with the structures of our own hands,
And we began to sing,
And dance,
And whisper sweet nothings,
And hush our hatred,
For want of innate love - that we'd forgotten how to find.

Veronika
the window looking through me
tracing my steps as i walk away
you're behind it, intruding
the sun sinks

lamp lights push me
the path bends my waist

now she's a memory
one of the prisoners behind your curtains
these spirits you hold captive
to whom you couldn't give back
Once more
Again
From the Dark
As the Sun Rises
I Find Myself
Alone but Surrounded
Surrendered but Proud
Shrouded in Hurt
But Open in Heart

This new Day
Comes at Last
To Warm my Cheeks
And Ease my Heart
Pain Fades
As Hope Rises
Perhaps this is as it
Is Meant to Be

I do not know
I am only a Man
But one looking at the Sun
And not the Ground
Muscles Relax
Tensions Ease
Resentments Fade Away
In Truth is Hope Born
God Bless the Rising Sun
First new poem in a long time, which was spent in darkness

Slur pee
The moon drips soft sunlight
Into wishful eyes;
Pupils explode and stars go blind
As life grinds against coarse sands of time.

Slur pee
I am a pile of contorted bones
Adult, but fetal; sinking in *****
Material, so fickle.
Time- it slows and trickles
Down sunken cheeks, to tickle
Smiles that are broken and brittle.

Casting shadows
That make me feel so little,
I'm being devoured;
Carved away by his chisel.

From the inside, I have withered
And this shell has split and splintered.

I am nothing but hollow bones,
Covered in flesh- waiting to decompose.
To be ravaged
By a shattered promise of tomorrow.
