I see it in
         shades of
liquid coal
  slaking
    my aching
           thirst in
black ocean shoal
      onyx crystals
             washed up
            in tides
       of barely
    peeking,
night-lava eyes
     silently spoken
                   and through
     the waters of deep
my soul is
    waking up from
          eons of sleep
              weaving garlands
             of darkest green,
            seaweed tips
that I tenderly keep
       strewn, in chlorophyll strips
                      across the stardust glow
                                       of my naked skin
                                     as I liquid float,
                       spirit whirring within
                              eyes bright
                in illuminated
          moonstone glow
picking up signals
of halted flow
This is needed here,
in this darkest of dark
waters abundant
with tight, broken sparks
shards of the living
and fragments of souls
                  a luminosity of darkness
                  making us whole
      And pulsing next to me
   in beauty's surprise
phosphorescent creatures,
     a feast for the eyes
           loving, gently brushing
                my outstretched fingers-
                     bioluminescence divine
                         on my body lingers
                   from jellies to squid
                to jet -hued sharks
    knifing through layers
     of dark on dark
         within the
lush waters' quiet force
a dance in faded flicker
conjures the source
                 within the depth
                         of the depths
                            of my endlessly
                            wet
          in my darkest of dark
between blood and sweat
penetrating the mysteries
   that quake through
          this heart
         filling it up
  as it tears it apart
         smashing it
    to smithereens
   creating sutures
   of ironic healing
until through the cracks
both wide and slight
        shoots up
the flare
of my own
    inner
          light
This was based on a poem that our dear bex posted entitled "The Darkest Dark," based on the title of a children's book aof that same name. I decided to take this to another direction, and of course it led me to the sea and the complexity and depth that is emotion

"Under the water/ we die/ So why do we jump in?"

Ive licked sin straight from your lips
Tasted your forbidden fruit
****** the lies dry within you
Drained you of your truth
Looked at you right in the eye
As you writhe naked on the floor
And the evil that dwells inside me
Can only whisper "more"

all that time-
it ended so quickly
one day i had the whole world
and i watched it disintegrate from my own hands
it could've been a year but you wanted more than i could've ever given you
It's the textbook definition of insanity,
you and me.
I just want it to be
called what it really is,
I've always craved honesty.
Yet you're afraid of me
of what would happen to "us"
if there was no longevity.
But "us" already IS
we're already everything
a real couple would be.
Call me crazy
because you can't call me your girlfriend.
Nestled in a booth,
Small latte sips,
Brilliant blue eyes,
Sheltered behind tortoiseshell frames,
Engaged with some battered book.
I sit parallel,
******* a long cold coffee,
Pretending not to be falling for you.
White queen, white queen, from the white throne,
Who'd be as fair as you alone?
No face of men nor gods can be,
Even as half as fair as thee!

White queen, you are opening now;
O did my heart pull you somehow?
I march with force my pawns for you,
And O! What will they ever do?

My knights, they give no care for war!
They'll gladly give their life so far,
My bishops have gave theirs to God.
O while I nod! O while I nod!

My castles have been broken here,
While you are dazed with thoughts so queer,
You think that it's a nick of time,
Before I lose the entire rhyme!

And then white queen, you pushed the flanks.
With broken kingdom, out of ranks,
I'm easy to ****, I'm easy to mate.
I'm easy to pin with no escape!

And here, you issued the final blow.
But you never really did know,
That this was my desired way!
This could've not been a better day!

White queen, white queen, from the white throne,
Who'd be as fair as you alone?
I've let you sink my kingdom tall!
I've let destruction make it fall!

For I love you with all my soul,
You've got me pinned; that was my goal.
To my white queen.

Sombro
A hobby is
Doing something crazy
Over
And over
Again and
Again
Until someone calls it pretty.
Not my usual poem, more just a thought
