I don't like mustaches and you remembered
You kept it till last December
When you knew you'd see me one last time
You dropped out of highschool for an extra dime
My friends say you're not good for me
And I understand
A dropout and the girl with the principal as her biggest fan
But I live for the moments we have together
From Subway dates to running home in bad weather
My friends don't get how happy I am
How I understand that you aren't a good guy, but not a bad man
You have a warrant out for your arrest
But I sometimes fail my tests
We all have our bad things, we regret and don't flaunt
But you are not one of mine, and I'm of yours I hope not
A bad analogy I understand, but take a moment to see what you can
He's a sweetheart and a charmer for sure
But he loves me for me and that's pure
I dont get guys like that much if at all these days
And I know he means good intentions in all of his ways
As bad as they may be
And my friends remind me
We mustn't judge a book from the cover
Simple as can be

being called the good guy
the nice guy
should be a compliment
when really it's a polite way
of saying you're not good enough

you're not the best looking
you don't walk the fine line
of bad boy and *******

you're swimming in a sea of sharks
always stuck in second place

but the girls like you
they like your sensitivity, your compassion
though a perfect personality can't compete
with a cocky smile
or razorblade lips

after all someone has to be the friend
gay or not you're at a comfortable distance
at the edges of arm's length

locked in a window
waiting forever to come in from the cold
to take off your boots and
dry your skin by the fire
to say "this is where I belong"

your shoulders don't carry the alpha weight
never mustering enough masculinity
but one day you'll be the catch
father of the next year
husband material
not appropriate for a boyfriend
you'll age like fine wine
in some time foreign to now

in the mean time what should you do?
stand on the sidelines
while her heart gets beaten to death
endless brutality when she's had enough
only to say it isn't enough?

it's never enough

but keep yourself good
the world could use fewer *******
eventually someone will see you
for who you are
and that'll be beautiful
one day

no matter what you should always be yourself
it's the best you can do
it's the only honest thing to do
extend your arms with sincerity
some day someone will walk into them
and realize all that you are
which is simply not good enough
After writing this, I realize this sounds a lot more cynical than my original intentions. But I also don't write a lot of poems in this style so I'm gonna let it be.

Good guys are not boring,
*****, you are just a *****, girl
This is for the girl who cheated on her boyfriend. She said that her man is a good man then added that good men are boring. In the first place, why answer his courtship if you find him boring? And why do you have to let the whole social media know that you cheated on him? Gawd, you are so proud being a cheater. That guy doesn't deserve you.

I am a good guy
Who is just a little lost,
In love,
In work,
In life.

Trying to be happy,
Just wears me down,
Some ups,
But mainly downs,
Doesn't mean I'm excused for how I was to you.

I guess I always thought that I was a good guy,
That's why my thoughts are scaring me,
That's why I'm feeling guilty -
Because for once I'm going to do something bad...

But I really don't want to,
Nor do I have a choice.
I feel like I'm cornered, having to cause harm to do good... But I don't have a choice, I'm cornered :
The sooner I get out, the better...
