forrest fires in my head put out by your punctuation
because your pause between sentences feel just as comforting a your body close to mine
a savior in black and white written in galaxies before concepts of color were strewn about
the simplest shared breath took trajedy from terminal, to taking it one step at a time
safety cuffs on criminals with broken hearts as our only crime
we look to you to save us
and I was the lucky convict to catch your inquiring glance

indefensibly on the offensive
trying to hide weaknesses
and anything else

that might reveal
true self and true feelings

especially
those concerning

love or spiritual belief

emitting political opinions
or tales of personal trajedy

while omitting anything
that might make a person vulnerable

to soul exploration
or a sense of one's actuality

all the images have faded
here we are
face to face

amid the horror
of this world

You wonder why young children look in the mirror
In disgust with themselves.
Why they go looking for love
In places they know it won't be found.
You can't comprehend why they,
With so much ahead of them, bury themselves
In an avalanche of notifications
Intangible, glowing distractions.

A sick, insuperable obssession
With the thought that
Connections to trajedy somehow transform them
Into more beautiful creatures.

Our generation is enthralled
With negative space.
Gaps in time;
Valleys eroding inward until
There is just
Nothing
Left
To give.

Happiness is out there for all
Who lift their heads from the blankness..

Let's bring ourselves back into a pure,
Simple life.
*It's worth living.

meditations emanate in the summer breeze
seals & croft plays on the radio
a familiar voice
a welcomed pause
otherwise complicated
wandering thoughts
all come together
like Greek soldiers
at the gates of Troy
hope, faith, love, laughter,
my Trojan horse
these revealing hours
turn to minutes
thoughts dispel
through the walls of
doubt, disgust, & hate
we pass through
onto incredible interests
articulated discussions
one on one considerations
we sketch familiar ideas
while droplets of time
fill empty buckets
that overflow
like every Greek trajedy
that must come to an end
we bid farewell
go back to the battle
and face our Achilles heel
