"tendence" poems
I never cried at your misplaced words Though, I felt them, So carefully, Gnawing At My spirit. My heart only cried wet, dragging words That loved hard And too quickly After Your wayward self. Filthy words spilled from your blackened lips, Telling of your innards. But, I couldn't let go That somewhat glow I kept glimpsing Before you shut down. In the moon's attempt at a soothing beck Is tendence to insatiable hunger, Pretending, between breaths, I couldn't hear My own growlings clawing in your thunder. Teary eyes and hopeful eyes stare down Frozen and thoughtless, cold eyes, Until I glance away With nothing to say, Ignoring the impending, Yearning.

Strike 70
Up amongst the billions of galaxies, Clusters of lucent fragments, with each being a star All part within an ever expanding plane of space, Where existence will cease, and a birth of eternal dark. Have you ever wondered, while staring out from the vale that Evanesce will your memories, and our promises fade unwillingly? When our time equals cipher, can any life imprint? I believe now that it can, after I met you Emily. It matters not to me if God exists, and i'm stubborn after death Enraptured, with all that I have hold of right now, My love unto you bestowed, until my last breath. The matter that makes us, journeyed for eons as time allowed A collection of stardust, formed from elder stars that passed After all, living is it's own reward and what matters is right now The universe sure took its time, but it brought us together to last. Up amongst the billions of galaxies, clusters of lucent fragments, with each being a star All part of an ever expanding plane of space But when all life will cease, forever for you, my loving heart. So I brush off from my shoulder, thoughts unto silence, and not one's awareness to see Now my mind is at rest with absent affliction, a gradual increase of our affection, like new born stars from used debris, then gifted emergence through timely accretion. In the darkest shade of black, the inexplorable sea You're my first choice distraction, still have all my attention, a constant, unchanging increase of adoration Like the old explanation, our own steady state theory. Will you let me be your lifetime attachment, while the brightest stars diminish behind our blaze of attraction? Comprehension of the natural, celestial body and beauty, in all of your wonder, a real miracle before me But for me to achieve that point of satisfaction, it would require an in-depth and extensive explanation Putting together the facts for all the eyes of the world to see, You'd need your own special branch of astronomy We're equal and unmatched our own balanced force of devotion, another push and pull system in the third law of motion. Perhaps an optimistic and hopeful first attempt, at expressing myself through poetry But with this I can tell you, in a slightly different way, that you're my best friend, my partner and you'll always be my family Now seldom are those unfavoured thoughts, their tendence to abscond from uncertainty Because now you've made me feel like i'm destined to be, forever a part of the constellation of Emily.

Shade into shadow as eventide's darkness Slips to the call of the curlew by night, Days amble by in a curtain of sameness Taken for granted until there's a fright. Shade into Shadow and thence into blackness Transition freezes to polar like pall, Abruptly the curtain curtails the performance As actors retreat at a horror recall Shade into shadow in depths descended A shaking the head as cogniscence takes heed, Bloodlessly blasphemy curdles the heartstrings Wrending tomorrow's tendence to bleed. Shade into shadow as battle lines rendered Mustering courage, embracing my wife, Clustering close to the portends that matter Shedding the superficialities of life. Shade into shadow and thence into sunlight Girding the soul with the grace of the day, Meeting the foe at the edge of the abyss Hurling him down with his claws of clay. Shade into shadow extending before me Light in the lingering tones of the eve, Positivities beacon is beckoning Seeking the smile of tomorrow's reprieve. [email protected] 3 May 2024

Shade into Shadow
Standing wild-violet-timid in careful shoes, I collapse into Monday. My internal weather is spiky with low-level nausea. Brain fog, mind-cloudy at first, with a high chance of precipitation across the afternoon. Externally, the settling cold front will bring morning squalls before a high-pressure system arrives in the early evening. Difficult to know what shoes are needed   for this day, this time, let alone what armour, masks, and steel with this climate, this energy... Hard to predict what will be stored in memory by this mind, this brain... This questionable, yet seldom questioned, recording of events, from my flawed perspective only... Should I attempt to trust myself today? The answer neither clear nor confident Instant reflex shoulder shrug With gaze-avoiding fizzy nerves A patent hint that I may be     a trifle less than competent What lens will shape my history today? And will it light me kindly or in glare? When my parts construct the story Hope they break it to me gently But I know that my track record     not-so-subtle hints beware    If my brain detects a glimpse of faults or glimmers of malfeasance, it will use these torts to make the case that I deserve all grievance from a host of inner parties with a wavering allegiance the impedance to agreeance is a tendence to vehemence, so How will I use the playback from today? I could use it well in kindness or in pain With the re-runs stealing airtime From productive contemplation I could use it as more proof that     I should not have trust again… Tomorrow, I will wear my security boots, with stronghold socks.
