There and here and back again
They say this too shall pass
But April showers bring May rain
Subtler fainter shades of pain
I know that you prefer a lie
Prefer to think its peachy keen
But I see through rose-specs that
Illuminate a shade of green-
An ugly insurrection
That mirrors your reflection
And I feel the need to flee
Like a far-gone beaten wife
But escape is never final till
You **** what keeps you up at night
And what I'm up against
Demands a massacre
And what I need the most is sleep
But no matter how appealing
And no matter how befitting
Requiting you won't make ends meet
Your face has disappeared
Into the blackened void
Just another two-timer
Who's tongue I can't avoid
You've no idea the damage you've done
And it's clear to the whole world who's won
But divided are the ones who judge
Split right down the middle-
With support from a grudge
I could care less about what I've lost
And who you've gained
And frankly I prefer
The dark and the rain
I've always been a different level
Of insane
But I rather burn in hell
Then breathe in this underhanded,
Wretched spell
Made up of all my flaws
And warning bells
And hisses from your cold death knell
That rings of all the ones who fell
And all the souls you chose to sell
And all those tainted wish-you-wells
You thought that I could never tell-
But doers rarely dream
And breakers rarely bend
You're exactly as you seem
To he, she and them
But I see through a glass, lightly
Every single night

Zen
Once told make good the promises of youth
I said **** that, let's see what this baby can do.
I read grasp by wing the empty sky
Said alright, now I'm flyin'.
Learned take to task the soil of earth
Worked my *** off, now I'm tired.
Overheard Sail by sea tho waves be high
Puked my guts out when I tried.
Preacher man said I should harvest the bounty of friendly ways
Uncle Sam taught me to shoot first and make friends when they are dead.
Poets say love requiting all your days
I've loved and learned a thing or two, then got left blue (can you blame 'em)
Philosophy 101 lesson learned Let age grace you with humility
Marlboro Red says that I'm the hottest cowboy in hell
Life's golden rule Grace this place with your tranquility
I've rocked and rolled my way all through.
One thing I've learned: life can be zen but zen is boring.
Zen's for old age, now's for roaring.

she is infinity beyond what nature can compare. In awe she is looked upon on. Her walks, flaws so untangibly bare. Jealousy surrounds her like a thousand swarming beez. They seem not to notice that she doesnt care but humbly flaunts her beauty requiting their envy with her stares. Her heart so strong her love deeper than the ocean can reach is a hope for others. She is beauty and beauty is her.

"are you happy?"
echoing
lingering
imitating
reanimating sound

"maybe"
cyclic
anemic
phobic
armistice

"I am asking for a yes or a no"
endangered
requiting
enamored
caprice

"so which is it?"
vibrating
shattering
lingering
doubt

"are you truly happy?"
monotheistic
never-ending
asphyxiating
reprise
It's one of the postmodern poems that I am kind of proud of

Go on and love your ghosts,
And imagine them requiting it

Spend your days pining,
For a corpse long buried

Waste away the hours,
While they love another

Awaken from your delusional stupor,
Find a beating heart and love anew

THE BELL GOES FOR THE END OF HISTORY

her head all algebra
trigonometry and Heaney
and...boys...boys...boys

her mind crept
nearer & nearer...him
longing just to touch his...

she watched a trickle of sweat
make its way down his neck
imagined herself licki..ing...it...off

it is the end of WW1
thank heaven for that
she watches him....mmmm...stretch...yawn

his name surrounded
by doodled hearts and flowers
her first poem....ahem...HYMN TO HIM

she had eyes only for him
he had eyes only for Siobhan Winterson
she hated Siobhan Winterson

oh my God oh my God oh
he just looked. . .
. . .past me

oh please oh please oh please
look at me
he doesn't give her a second look

she cries herself asleep
dreams of him
requiting her unrequited love

years years later
two kids and a divorce later
HYMN TO HIM in a battered shoebox

she reads her
13 year old self
sobs her heart out

Those scars rooted me. Stigmata stalagmite
I sat at a drive-in and watched the stars
Through a straw while the Coke in my lap went
Waterier and waterier. For days on end or

Nights no end I crawled on all fours or in
My case no fours to worship you: Amoeba Behemoth.
—Then you explained your DNA calls for
Meaner genes than mine and since you are merely

So to speak its external expression etcet
Ergo among your lovers I’ll never be ...
Ah that movie was so faraway the stars melting

Made my thighs icy. I see: it’s not you
Who is not requiting me, it’s something in you
Over which you have no say says no to me.

fervor reflecting through her soft skin,
requiring the kindest of care.
requiting my heart to an empty room
where each beat echoes and spirals to the curls of her hair.
i dance to our minds, wondering what is it that's inside.
the charm of her eyes, a familiar guise, leads me to another tale, a curse, of demise, but, as i know, a blessing and a lesson in disguise.
would you wish to dance intwined?
us to learn by our movements aligned?
for this monument, from ruin, being rebuilt in these endless periods of time?
to lead a friendship of that divine?
