"iridiscent" poems
I don't know who I am,
but I know the person I want to become.
I want to be rich,
like mother teresa's heart of gold,
like the iridiscent colours in sunshine-eyes.
I want to be poor,
like the beggar who appreciates any scrap of food,
like the bankrupt who eventually learns to count his blessings.
I want to be quiet.
Like the introvert who wishes she wasn't so,
like the girl who meets her boyfriend's parents for the first time.
I want to be loud,
like the drunkard who casually spits out truth,
like the pounding club music that makes my head hurt.
I want to be nothing,
like how the girl who doesn't belong anywhere is treated,
like how a guy who's afraid of commitment denies your relationship.
I want to be everything.
Like the atoms our entire physical world is constructed out of,
like the girl who's your first pill of the morning
and last of the night.
I want to be weak,
like professor xavier, who's too kind for his own good and can't walk.
like the flimsy piece of paper that caused your paper cut.
I want to be strong,
like professor xavier, who can control people with his mind,
like how it feels to be reminded that you're needed and loved.
I want to be a bundle of contradictions.
Rich yet poor,
quiet yet loud,
everything but nothing,
weak but strong.
Well, maybe I don't.
Or maybe I already am.

The day palace in which abides the Sun emperor,
Who knows not to despair when once fallen;
The blooms that flower as the fierce Sun's delicate followers,
Greeting him at dawn and mourning for him at dusk.
The star string that adorns the night
Like a diamond ornament light and bright;
The tides that whisper something to the Moon -
Perhaps a love song, for he glows back in joy.
The sky paper, varily coloured with splashes of paint
And patches of pure white and filth - stained grey;
The feathered fowl indulging in flight
And sometimes resting in self-made melodies.
And the splendid sea, a wanderer who, but, is fixed to her spot,
The mirror of nature, breakable yet in fact unbreakable;
The slithering creatures facing the wind of water,
Sweeping past other iridiscent colours under the sea.
All done in distinct beauty by the Divine Brush on Nature's canvas;
And all creations - being homes of the Divine Maker,
Being one as Nature - the beautiful maiden divine,
Does display a dazzling dance divine.
And as sweet as honey trickles the mouth,
So does my eyes as jewels shine wonder -
Awaking joy from slumber and lulling the Devil to sleep.
Gratitude to the ray that woke the idle mind.

I stare at you
Your iridiscent sweater
The azure sky reflecting in your eyes
But I also notice
The ice on your lips
And in your heart.

Aureate appears,
Touching my skin,
Softly, gently
Enveloping in a warm embrace
Slowly, it covers my whole body
And i bask in the beauty
Suddenly, i lose sight
Yet I could still see
Warm, poignant, radiant
Touching my toes, crawling all the way up to my head
Until it fills me
And I become it.
Iridiscent, glowing, light.
What I touched felt my warmth
Enveloped in light,
Freeing them from darkness
It was a moment
And moments pass
I opened my eyes
There were no more darkness, only light.

a multi-toned beauty
that shifts in color
depending on how the lights hit it
a stunning glitter
that shines beamingly
whatever the case,
you stand up.
you are shining.
