"achromatize" poems
Do you hear the cellos moan in the distance?
Voices achromatize and beckon?
Can you feel the vibratos?
Can you feel them echo within your vacancy-
Feel your warm silks quiver-
Members within tingling ridges,
Can you feel it?
The electric awakenings
shaking dilated eyes,
Can you feel it?
*-let me hear you
I wanna feel you.*

i wish i could only see in monochrome
like you
i wouldn’t have to witness
the way the blue of my eyes
have seemed to achromatize
ever since
i stopped feeling rapture
for existence.
i wish i could only see in monochrome
like you
so i could avoid
the redness of the callow faces
that drift by me each day
the flush of their cheeks
filled with hope.
it makes me envious
for their sanguine blush
is untouchable to me.
i only flush red
with anger.
i wish i could only see in monochrome
like you
did you know,
our eyes are the same tint of blue?

I can’t, she thinks and cries in vain
Her lips take form upon his name
They tangle up her swollen tongue
And banish every song she’s sung.
The sun burns out, red smears the sky
And plunges into eternal night.
Goodnight, goodbye, so long for now
Sweet garish, perfect sun
Back to the night, achromatize
To shadows I’ve become.

Wreathed in kinetic wisps of fog,
the trees achromatize,
then re-emerge, verdant.
Chi Gong students wave hands in clouds
- no longer a metaphor,
but this morning ...
breathable.
Stillness envelops all
until leaf blowers and edge clippers
cleave the calmness with
their sounds of domesticated gardens.
As if defeated by the din,
the fog retreats back towards the ocean,
leaving but a token of itself
shimmering on the grass.
