Beneath a sky of
silken blue and ivory stud
garnet dreams of you

Calming and gentle
the aquamarine waters
of your lovely eyes

Inside my heart you
live for all eternity
I'm forever yours

Above us the stars
shine only for you and I
silver fantasies

and all that jazz !!!

As I sit at my dining table this morning,
The already hot sun
Caresses my face,
Lifting my eyes,
Golden rays singe
My retinas, my lids shut like a vault.
My mind teleports me
To a summer in South America.
I can hear fingers picking at guitar strings,
I see men with scruffy moustaches
and sombreros. And I
Smell fresh limes.
I lick my lips and sigh,
“Oh, to be back there!”
Fully adjusted to the darkness,
Reality informs me its time for work.
Can I wear some earrings, a bracelet, a necklace
To remind me of this treasured memory?!

Thank you darkness,
For you have made it possible
To see the stars and moon
In the sky

Thank you darkness,
For without you
I would not have been able
To imagine the light
at the end of the tunnel
And so,
I would have no reason to keep walking towards it

Thank you darkness,
For you keep everyone
"In the dark"
And I wouldn't have it any other way
Because if we knew the future
There would be no point in having it
One of the best things, though misunderstood
Winter sun
kissed by the breeze
shakes the limbs
of starveling trees
wakes the bones
of each bare bough
and tells the spring
it’s not long now
*Finnish for awaken

Virile salty drops fall on the hard gym floor,
    but the stud’s not crying
among the 20 kilo plates and olympic bars:
Andrew's sweating out one handed press-ups.
He might pull the wool over
his bright clear blue red-blooded eyes,
but this hunk’s core knows – he's lying.
Thoughts on toxic masculinity and male vulnerability.
Andrew is pretending that he is a hard man who doesn't cry but in reality the salty drops are tears not sweat, hence Andrew's he-man exterior is a lie.
Line 4 - Andrew's is a contraction of "Andrew is" and not the genitive case.
Line 6 Red-blooded is both the redness of his eyes (because he is crying) and a play on red-blooded as in macho.
The ambiguity of the poem reflects the disconnect between Andrew's inner feelings and external lifestyle.
