Durable 8-10-24
Things or people that are durable and remain strong over a period of time. Something that lasts, in good condition.

There are times I will write a poem, and it  will get 20 views. The next poem will get None.
In today’s climate, you’re lucky if you get 10 comment. It’s rather frustrating when you review minimum 30 poems a day and people don’t reciprocate. Sure you benefit from reading their poetry. But when others read your poems, you can get a sense whether you’re on the. Mark or you missed it all together. The societal climate is fickle. However I am blessed to have a community of friends here on HP.

How do you know
      What you don’t know
 If you don’t know it?

Do you know what I mean?

How do you know
What you forgot
   If you forgot it?

Do you know what I mean?

How do you know?

( it’s A pet peeve
when I hear that phrase )

If I knew what you meant,
there would be no
need for Conversation
extrapolating, an explanation!

In the blink of an eye
He climbed the corporate ladder
Known for his business acumen
Now He stares off into space
speaking to no one there

Losing our memory happens
to us all as we get older.
We walk into a room and
forget why we entered.

We forget what we
were going to say.
Constantly losing things
that are right there
in front of us

I can’t even imagine
looking at my love of
40 years and don’t know
who that person is

Alzheimer’s or Dementia
is not only ******* the patient,
but it’s devastating
for the people around them.

It happens so gradual
people don’t notice.
Until it’s unrecognizable.

1)I will remember you,
By Sarah McLachlan 1995
2) memory by Barbra Streisand, 1981

Within each of us
Resides wide, eyed adventure
Waiting to break free
Joyful glee play all day long
A child’s heart beats strong

saying nothing sometimes says it all as all know
silence can be an education a world wide contribution
holding your tongue, which is a strange expression,
but practising it now and again can make all the difference
a helping hand to all and sundry in a world of noise.

Vintage Chanel lives rent free in my mind
the colors are deep, subtle and magical.
Over time, the originally soft textures,
become luscious, like a lover's caressing touch.

In college, you dress down,
you want to blend in, not stand out
gods forbid you flag entitlement
and draw envy's barbed compliments.

The simple styles bear the twin burdens
of camouflage and practicality.

In Paris, fashion can be capricious,
but elegance is a silent conversation,
with its own intricate vocabulary in drape,
line, fabric and in painstaking choice.

In places where fashion matters - Paris, Manhattan, the Hamptons,
it can signal position, the way uniforms signal authority everywhere.

A splash of fashion can not only have a fabulous effect
on how its wearer feels, it can tell important stories.

I’m told that, in back rooms, where fortunes are awarded or lost,
fashion can announce arrival, rank, and intent.
It can whisper new wealth, in upstart display
or a threadbare, silent duel with mounting debt

Media mogul critics
Die hard, cynics

Are all capricious by designs
Don’t step on their land minds

Factitious information
Bait and switch tactics creation

If they say it’s not
It’s what you’re got

Rhetoric and hyperbole
Don’t believe what lying eyes see

Regurgitate Same talking stance
News determine in advance

They want useful idiots. It’s a shame.
While choosing someone else to blame

All the while with a smile
The song remains the same

Song inspired
1) Signs by The five electrical band
2) these times are a Changan’ by Bob Dylan
3) The song remains the same Led Zeppelin
( Robert Plant believe Music is universal 1973, every time I sing this song, I just picture, I’ve been around the world, and at the root of it all, there’s one common denominator.)

FYI song remains the same has a very long intro but there are lyrics it’s worth the wait
