Another night...

Without a decision...
On another night...
Alone with you...
With thoughts that haunt my head...
While your ghost never leaves me...
To prevent sleep in my eyes...
And keep me up...
As if I...
Choose words...
Words that suit to you...
Trying...
To write a poem...
From your eyes...
And from your ghost...
That stays up with me...

Despite all the words...
And how many there are...
Which fly around me...
As many as the stars in the sky...
In this night...
I stand helpless...
Me and my pen...
From the abundance of thoughts...
And my desire for you...
With lust...
In front of your eyes...
Until I call on sleep...
To take me...
To you...
In the most wonderful dream...
For our bodies to write together...
The most wonderful epic...
For a poem...

Hazem Al ...
Rachel Glen Aug 2017
the skeletons in my closet keep laughing at me.
their crooked mouths falling open, shaking gleefully.
gravity pressing down on me, pushing me further.
this collective emptiness taunts me evermore.
pen to paper, it's been quite a while, my dear.
these days known as in-between grow longer.
until all i can see are letters floating around me.
forming words and sentences i couldn't bring myself to say.
perhaps it's for the best, as i choke down regret.
and you dance into the sunlight of your life.
