As nostalgia takes me
I go back to old memories
Of broken dreams and shattered realities
My future seems incredibly bleak.

It’s been months since we’ve parted
and to your farewell I couldn’t attend
I just couldn’t stomach the thought
of you being erased from existence.

But now i’ve dealt with things,
I want to say thank you..
For everything you’ve done for me but here's
A belated Goodbye, A forgotten I love you

A promise unfulfilled,
A promise unsatisfied.
How do you still plague my mind?
Deceiving me
With once happy memories of all kinds.

But, you are the cancer.
Give me a straight answer,
About your invisible master
Who pulls at you from the shadows.
For you are not her,
Not the woman I once bled for.
The woman I once saw my future with.

You are just a stranger,
A vile stranger who
Knows all my secrets,
And my weaknesses.
When will you finally leave my thoughts? It's 5am and i need sleep.

When did love
become lust?
When did hate
become trust?
When did lies
become real?
When did we
become dust?

I remember the evening
that we sat clinging
to paper cups
of coffee gone cold

over secrets spilled and memories told
two bodies cursed
with hearts grown old

behind your eyes
I found new worlds
A winding road stretched out for miles
to a small cafe at the end of the isle

Sweet pastries filled the mouths
of those who sat beside us
and stayed for a while.

How the hours went by,
people just passing through
The descending sun ending
a forever with you.

Artist painting
Erratic strokes
Devil on his shoulder
Guiding the hand
Playful smile
One more stroke
Go faster,
Get that corner,
Deeper
The artist puts down his brush
Covered in a red ichor.
The devil stares at the artist
Yet the artist stares back
At his devilish companion.

Sorry old friend,
I missed the finishing stroke.
Looks like we’re going to
Try again some other time

Sofie
we're foolish lovers
living a lie

we're foolish lovers
stuck in the past

we're fools
for trying
to love each other

for we both know
we're only
fooling ourselves

we're foolish lovers
bound to regret

that we're foolishly pretending
not to love
someone else
