How un-kinetic of me!
Siddharth Ray Mar 16
If I were to tremble to your symphonies
Of distant laughs & lunatic conversations
What was built with each passing moon
Wonder if it could be built again, perhaps.

If victory were never the preferable romance
Dust be gone for the daylight to follow
What must it then glitter about from
From sorrows, smiles & laughs, perhaps.

If foresight were a bank currency
With plenty tailwinds to our identity crisis
What could all our monologues read
Dragging between dawn & dusk, perhaps.

If my loggerheads with myself were in question
So would be you, with yours I guess
Beating the retreat as we go along
Breakin' bread, muscles and bones, perhaps.

Conform.
Siddharth Ray Jun 2023
Leave aside your spiritual hunger,
There’s enough wisdom in generational ideals.
Leave aside your worldly exposures,
There’s enough comfort in familial misery.
Leave aside your vindictive allergies,
You’ll crawl for societal acceptance anyway.
Leave aside dark undertones & this poetic licence,
In spite, light breeds light every single day.

Chal paddi thi gaadi taka tak
Hawa shayad thoda zaada hi bhar diya
Befikri ka safar, aa pohoncha uss keel par
Tamasha, shayad thoda zaada hi bhar diya
Ab pahiya toh tha rubber ka hi
Humara kya isne kadar kiya
Gir pade hum, lag gayi chot
Fir humare dard ne bhi asar kiya
Ab iss keel ko bhi hum kya koosein
Kambakht hai toh yeh lohe ka diya
Sadak se dosti ki aas hum hi laga baithe
Bhool gaye ki yeh toh hai bas ek zariya
Humne kaha kuch pal yahin bita lein
Puncture banane ka kaam fir shuru kiya
Pahiya toh fir bhi chal jayega janaab
Yeh reh jayega banke chhed,
Humne na kissi se kabhi zikr kiya

The slide
Siddharth Ray May 2021
Sitting at the mountain top
Do you ever plan the descend?
A journey that might be worth a ponder
Often vapid when there's a peak to defend
But perhaps for a little while
Humor me, your old wise friend
Do your sorrows & sighs still surprise you?
Same old patterns that just pretend
A mutiny within you, as are left to flail
Submerging your skyscrapers like an old trend
And then you cry your every brick down
For there's nothing left for you to fend
Maybe, just maybe you should this time
Look at me longer while you have time to spend
The fresh powder will give new dots to connect
Put on that snowboard, with me you can blend
Sliding down a slippery ***** might scare you
But a new story is waiting to be penned
At base when you do reach, look back and say hello
Take my echos as a sign, a sign to make amends

Hey Beethoven!
Siddharth Ray Oct 2020
That well was full
Plenty, for me and you
Showers that weren't yet,
Dried of its scented dew
The windows spared us
Of despair in the August truth
While blood rushed within us
It appeased of a Beethoven's brew
I sighed, "hey you little gamine"
"This is Symphony through and through"
Perhaps even the No.5
But more likely the No.2
And we light that last cigarette
Ash that turned air in a few
What could have been was the discord
As Ludwig shook his head and blew

Haal hi mein
Siddharth Ray Jun 2020
Dil se hai, woh ek enigma
Magar zubaani pesh hai gaali
Kabhi samjho iss coconut nut ko bhi
Fitratt saaf hai, fitoor mawaali

Ab daayein gaye toh bhi galat
Aur left me bhi kismat bawaali
Inka ghussa rahe danke ki chook pe
Aaya tha samachaar haali

Jo gaye toh gaye ab unka kya
Unko sunna tha rock, humne gaya kawaali
Unne koshish ki lafz decode karne ki
Gehra meaning nahi hai bhai,
Khoopdi hai ekdum khaali!

Her blinds are off
Siddharth Ray Feb 2020
Unclose, but in vain
She brushed off her integrity
With bags underneath her eyes
She looked at me in pity
Said a thousand things
With that cold blunt stare
My vanity, my existence
Uncloaked, she left me bear
And I asked her if
What she's done was right
Smiles and says you aren't alone
Others too have suffered your plight
But empty is you
If you feel it in your bone
Justice is frivolous for most
You must keep holding your own!

Bhaiyon aur behnon
Aao karein charcha unki
Jinki leh na bahe toh
Hojata hay ghanghor apraadh
Fir mehek achi ** ya buri
Dil mein bas reh jati hay baat
Zaika hai inka bhi anokha
Magar chonk ke bina kaisa swad
Aao karein charcha unki
Jisse hum khetey hain jasbaat
Apni marzi ke yeh hain maalik
Time par dikhate hain aukaat
Kabhi bina namak,
Aur kabhi cheeni *** ** toh
G par dil khol dete hain laath

Tamasha.
Siddharth Ray Jun 2019
Jis din ankhein na khule,
Andhere main lage sab theek,
Bandh ankhon pe peeche,
Hay jaise koi tamasha

Jeboon ki woh khan khanahat,
Jab jaye taqdeer se rooth,
Fir bharri mehfil bhi lage,
Hai jaise koi tamasha

Samajh ke aage jaakar,
Chadh jao manziloon pe,
Bin darbaari ke darbaar me bhi
Bas dikhe koi tamasha

Kinaara (Beach)
Siddharth Ray Jun 2019
Humse manga hota,
Itihas main kya rakha hay,
Shuruat kahaniyoon ki,
Hum se hi hui thi.

Kuch kahaniyaan shabdoon main kaid hui,
Aur kuch *** leheron main phass
Jab sagar bhi hum, kinara bhi hum
Unki mulkaat, hum se hi hui thi.

Humse na mile toh kya dekha,
Tum raahi **, hai raasta lamba,
Inn raston ki hadd ka andaza
Hum se shuru aur khattam bhi hum pe hui thi.

Bandh kamaroon main hi sahi,
Baatein kuch aiesi naseeb hoon,
Pitara jo khul gaya toh,
Chuppi bhi bol uthegi.

Pal, maheene aur din,
Sabka hisaab hay ismey,
Bol main likhun, tum gao,
Naadani bhi bol uthegi.

Distance.

If only we ever ponder,
Distance is merely a derivative of time n pace.
And while we could be mighty slow,
We'll have ourselves to embrace.

Vague. Blooms. Shy.
Mustn't I wish,
For a level high.

Proud. Evil. Succumb.
Half mouth open,
Sour feet, veins numb.

Days. Miles. Space.
Cast me a wish,
No point to that chase.

May it bother your wisdom, your might
For sooner this bustle gets deemed a jest
The louder I knock your pride, your fight.

Post Forensics
Siddharth Ray Jan 2016
I see unsolved puzzles
Of broken bricks and bones
Creating shadows, within us
Every step I move towards you
I find myself distant from truth
Then I reach this place
Only to find myself under the sun
But here unlike elsewhere,
The light defines,
Contours of darkness
I confide in this darkness,
What I couldn’t tell you
For I was always condemned
I feel loved in this solitude
I sit by the river and see stones shaping
Just like, my muppet mind
I feel the bliss, I feel life
From my experiences
Running the gamut from mountains to ponds,
I burn those puppets of papers
I say hello to the world
For there is no one to listen
But the trees and the wild...

if end wasn’t nigh.
Siddharth Ray Jun 2014
if I could rise up
as a Homer's character
and call for ruler
to ebb the inevitable
if I could call you
before its too late
and move my pawns upon you
casting alchemy
if I were to ever know
to define needs and desires
to be hysterically deviant
before it mattered
if I could have seen
what it would been
walking pavements with you
and having an alfresco meal
if I could have keyed
my grandfather’s watch
to exist again in the moment
and dwell on the thought
if I were to ever understand
the sound of clock and
fading pulse of our hearts
to be nigh analogues
if I could have
seen the world’s ends
and ranged my life
between the extremes
if I could have
borrowed your wings
for a span dolled over time
till the lapse of angst
could this be gnarling fate?
or just our folly?
leaving bated breaths and sighs
for there is no time
for there is no tomorrow
to accord with or may be confute
all the static beliefs and floating IFs

Invention Of Dancing
Siddharth Ray Jun 2014
The thing about dancing,
Is that it surely was invented post the 'mighty invention of music'

The might of music was such,
That the then tensile souls couldn't do much
And when some ******* back in the day
Thought he could probably get away
With being cheesy, without getting hit by a rock,
If he put down his words in a tune and wore a dancing frock
Whilst he was going at it on a cheese license, trying to compose a 'song',
This other bloke from down the road wondered where this
'sound' is coming from?
The music got to him, for he was the first to hear it apart from it's maker
He growled and stood up, to put his ale down in a magic shaker
And so he thought his colon would erupt
If he didn’t tap his feet to it with that ale he supped,
Completely unaware of the fact that shaking his head would be
soon to follow,
And so to speak, rest of his body, headed in a direction
that seemed perfectly hollow
And thus he made some gravity defying moves one after the other,
Hitting stacks of bread he just yelled, "Happiness rediscovered"

That piteous drunk soul was unaware that it would go on to
be know as ‘dancing’
If he were smarter or sober, he could have told it to the world himself with pride while prancing

What made him do it? Probably the music, probably he got laid twice the previous night,
Or his ex got divorced, yeah that would really end the fright
So he pounced on some meat and again shook his *****
Like he owed it to the world, like it was his duty

Whatever was the reason, in that magic season
The consequences of it gave us dancing & made mankind elevate
It was henceforth branded as a gesture to celebrate.

So let’s.

Am silk
I flow within and without
Your control
With each grain
The blow is growing
Outgrowing
Your will
To command
The fourth dimension of space
To fight your sorrows
To bring peace
To the pulses in your heart and head
Am growing away from
Your grasp
On the moist mist and matter
Fragile
You are, am not
Yet you believe otherwise
Every second another inch
Tick followed tack followed tick followed tack!
Am venting
Am all over your dreams
Your breath! your pulses!
My prowess battle
Your gains! Your losses!
Here’s to your myths
Here’s to your wait
For the ‘perfect’ ode

an open parchment
Siddharth Ray Jun 2014
Could you see this?
Or could you not
The empty clouds above
Veiling blood and bargains
Like a parody
Akin to mundane ghosts
Hey you gamine
This is no place to cry
***** along with me
Through the whistling woods of irony
Look at
The open windows here
The sky lights in your eyes
Against the shadows and silhouettes
We are all nothing
But street urchins on this land
For we were condemned
While we were asleep
Deep into the lights and oceans of
The superior rule, love
Sing along you little one
For this day of spring
Shan’t be the same
You and I will break bread
You and I shall be friends
You and I shall ride together
The giant wheel
For the people to know
May be just once
You are at the acme
In a niggling time frame
You touch the ground
For he, who is from heaven
Is for heaven!
For all who is gold
Will eventually grow old
For all who live
Shall fall one day
I will be here with you
I will be around
And I will mellow down
With the infinite skies
and a canopy of rains….

— The End —
