A little longer
You just received a delightful thought,
The one with the finest signature of your accomplishment,
Your mind sways with it in ecstasy,
You love the feeling,
Engaging in the sublime feel of happiness,
You celebrate,
You hangout with it,
You hang on to it,
For a while
A little longer,
But you do move on,
In pursuit of a fresher fragrance of happiness,
But this time failure creeps in…

Unlike being delightful it’s painful,
Tearing apart your belief,
Questioning your existence,
Eroding every ounce of your self-confidence
It is here to rot,
You hang on to the thought,
A little longer,
A little longer,
It becomes stronger,
You shut doors,
You switch on darkness,
You forget what it feels like to be happy,
Someone knocks at the door,
But the clinging filth deafens your mind,
Reluctant to let go,
You linger in darkness,
Turning blind,
While your inner strength and fighting spirit wait for the wide-open doors,
To liberate you,
To embrace you,
To make you stronger,
To see you pursue another opportunity,
But you continue to hold on to the past,
A little longer,
A little longer!
