A Short Love Note

I saw the sun today.

it did not rise nor did it set,

it lingered

in the air

at first my thought was of despair

then it turned

turned

Turned

to you for whom I care

the lingering sun then made me smile because i knew

you

could enjoy it for a while.

so when you feel the sun

gently touch your skin

Know I'm smiling from within

this horrible place

dark and dank

still

smilin'

in my prison
