Why do the waves not extinguish the Sun? As it descends from the sky to the Earth.
The sublime fallen angel, Turning my world into darkness.
It arises once again and in totality it is my Sun I accept, Ad nauseam condemns my being without light.
My shadow, why can't the waves extinguish the Sun? Without it I'm without you but I don't need you per se.
I find solace in the brilliance you accompany, forgive you I do, My heart, mind, soul, break as the Sun burns again.
I got the idea "why don't the waves extinguish the Sun" from a twitter post about a friend who didn't understand the Earth's orbit and thought the Sun dipped into the ocean every evening. I'd share a link if I hadn't already lost it.
I was writing earlier and remembered the tweet, and thought of how it was like the descent of an angel into darkness, how the Sun leaves us with night, and the light leaves our souls. Something more personal most people can relate to is how we continuously let people back into our lives only to get hurt over and over, just for a moment of happiness and that "buzz" of life and so we live through the pain over and over.
