It’s difficult to remember a time where I didn’t see cracks in my skin
Mystified that the first few went unnoticed
Until they became so abundant
I left blood on everything I touched

My bones ached from being so exposed
It spread so quickly I couldn’t keep up
I’d begin mending the large wounds
And come across five new

I’d care for the ones on my hands
Just for them to burst open the second I grabbed my pen
