May 2019
Like the smoke from a tossed away cigarette,
I didn’t think about it much then.
The smoke hatched into a forest fire,
I am thinking about it a lot now.
I went out of my way to ignore the smoke,
Now I am choking on a black lung.

Trying to build an ark,
When the flood has already come.
All the animals have drowned,
It is only me left now.
I hope I find arm bands,
Because I never learned how to swim.

Don’t leave your arm bands at home.
