as light is cast on your cheekbones,
i realize the light is not coming from the window,
or from between the curtains,
or even from the sun itself, no,
it comes from within.

your heart is aflutter with love, and i can see it in your
Eyes.
when you look at her,
you feel free,
and light reflects,
bounces off me,
i can touch the rays that come from your skin.

when you leave, the light will leave with you,
and darkness will once again seep into my space,
and maybe, just maybe, the stars will have a chance to shine again.
but without the sun, how will they learn how to fight?

again i fall, from heights unknown.
Maybe, someday, I will let go.
