Sun
I trail behind your brilliant golden rays
And pray that they will never fade away.
Just keeping you in my view
Lit a spark in my cold heart anew.

I had never dared to dream,
Afraid of ripping the seams
But your voice beckoned me,
Made me see all that I could be.

A saint and my saviour,
On this set path, I waver.
Could things be different?
Can I go against the current?

You stand still in the distance
Yet I cannot outrun my hesitance.
An idea of an ideal, immersed in the unreal. I don't know how else to feel.
