I may not be quite pretty
And I may not be that smart
But there are things that I can see
With only just my heart

I see that there are always some
Who just don’t seem to care
Who’ll take your heart and rip it out
And lay your feelings bare

But wait and watch and you will see
That hate does not trump light
That threads of friendship and of love
Will guide you through the night

They’ll wrap around your broken heart,
Your shattered dreams renew,
And they are there for everyone,
For me as well as you
For those who feel alone in crowds and beaten down by time
