The miracles of time, how the seasons go by,
and morning fades into dusk.
The bitter chill of winter months
And the memories of spring
It feels like a day and yet so long gone,
Like strings of sunshine hanging from the clouds.
The sweet smell of summer lingers on in my soul, but all too soon the memory grows faint and dies.
I can't quite recall the rose gardens hue,
Or the life that it once held.
i no longer feel the sun caressing my neck.
If only I knew how, I'd reverse the whole world
Just to steal one more glance at what's lost.
But I watch my foggy window, in a paradox of grief and joy,
and stare at the dead-like silent snow.
I layer up to face the cold,
While my heart is warm with the memories of old.
