I picked a paper rose
from a hat
of withered straw
and placed it in your summer hair
upon that
windy moor

I plucked plastic cherries
and the faded
lemon bow
and ******* your hair in pigtails
and brushed
away the snow

I up turned the bonnet
and then filled it
up with peat
and we planted in it daisies
from around
your naked feet

Let us return in spring time
to that spot
amongst the grass
where a Tongue-tied individual
won the heart
of his fair lass.
