Nevermind
My voice is silent,
My words are whispers in the blowing wind.
I am not loud,
I am not intrusive.
To most people,
An unheard
"I miss you."
Would be replaced
With
"Nevermind, it wasn't that important."
Because no one listens,
And it's gotten to the point
That you don't really care
If anyone hears you.
And all of a sudden
An unheard "I love you,"
Is replaced by a louder and more aggressive
"I love you!!!"
People don't hear
People like me.
I have a lot to say,
But few will ever listen.
Most listen
With the intent to respond,
Not the intent to hear.
I appreciate
And rather enjoy
Your intent to hear
Me.
I hope you know,
I have full intentions
Of hearing you too.
It's nice to be heard for a change, and even more it's nice to want to be heard.
