When I let go of you
I smiled
Because I realized that I'm a princess
Cut from the blackest onyx.
And the scars that mark my mind
Are harder than all diamonds.
Never to be penetrated again.
And I move through this world
Quiet like a fire.
Never missing you.
Because you gave me scars.

The diamonds of the best kind.
Don't judge the free verse
