Jul 2015
there is no definite boundary
between the earth's atmosphere
and the start of outer space

it just blends so smoothly
and mashes into one
giant mass
of gases
and hydrogen atoms,
creating matter
all around us

the friction created
by space allows
the stars to stay in place
as they're glued
into the sky
and held there tight

the only thing we
have to separate us
from the endless black sky
is the blue hue
that glows like a halo
around the planet
we call home

if the sky and the sea were
to switch places,
perhaps then we'd
know the difference
between them
and we wouldn't keep
drowning in our own
selfish stupidity
